hmm... maybe talk to him first, explain that you would like to ask her out... he may be mad, but im sure he'll be real mad if you just ask her out without talking to him. explain that to him too, tell him that you realize that he still has some kind of feelings for her but that you do too. dont go into how he cheated on her before. its not about whose "turn" it is. if he gets mad, its not your fault. try to stay as calm as possible. in the long run, he should respect the fact that you came to him as a good friend and explained the situation first as opposed to not telling him anything and just asking her out. and if he's not mad and realizes right away that you're trying to be a good friend to him, then all the better.

Well, since he still wants her back and you care what he thinks I think you should talk to him and tell him what you want to do. See what he says. If you're not happy with the answer nothings really stopping you from talking to her anyway. At least you can say you tried to make it ok with your friend. Otherwise, do nothing and keep both as friends. Nothing lost that way.
