I was originally going to post something silly, and maybe slightly cynical, regarding Christmas. Considering the hell Southern California (my home) has been through lately with the wild fires, some online fun seemed to be timely.

That will have to wait though. I've seen a few posts now from the wonderful ladies here on SG regarding unsolicited pics of a personal nature.

Guys I...

I was looking for a distraction from the damn fire and crazzzzy friggin' smoke and read about Disney & Fox. Since Disney has officially purchased Fox and that means they now hold the rights to several properties you might not initially associate with Disney (I'm looking at you my beloved Alien franchise), I felt prompted to find something related online. And here's the...

A few of you may know that I live in Ventura County (North of LA) as do most of my family and friends. As a lifelong resident I've seen a lot of nasty wildfires and other than a couple that took pace on the County's border with Malibu this one is the worst I've witnessed. Several houses in my Dad's neighborhood...

Thank you @ironsides1964, I appreciate your kind thoughts.

Thanks for the question @ski, they happen for a variety of reasons. Wind, etc bringing power lines down, cooking fires getting out of control in homeless encampments,, people being idiots with fireworks (even though they're illegal in all but 1 city). The long drought we've had created conditions that made it a matter of time before something happened. And yet I saw some idiot flick a cigarette out his car window a few days ago.

I laughed my ass off at this first one since I worked several black Fridays in retail years ago. Ah memories. Anyway, I hope you're as amused as I was!

Ok, I'm not looking forward to the gathering I'm going to for Thanksgiving. At all really. BUT. I'm trying to be positive and reframe things, and what I came up with is that once Thursday's over I can do whatever the hell I want on "Black Friday" and it damn sure isn't gonna be shopping! Perhaps this picture will give...

I actually don't have a problem with Thanksgiving, just some of the people I feel obligated to be nice to even though they're irritating as hell. You know, the same feeling a shit ton of people have LOL. There are people I spend it with that I'm thankful for and like being with, like my Dad. It's just those other relations...

I got all pissed off today because I saw a friggin' Best Buy commercial for friggin' Christmas and it isn't even friggin' Halloween!

I know, I know, that's just how it's gotten to be anymore but can't we have Halloween without Santa sticking his ass into it?? (That's a quote from comedian Lewis Black btw). I've got nothing against...

It may feel like summer in Southern California, but at least the house looks like Autumn. Now if it would just cool off and rain...

Its been 9 years since my best friend Bob passed away (and almost that long for his buddy Max in the pic with him) and while I miss him like you wouldn't believe, I also feel fortunate. Fortunate because I was close to someone who genuinely made the world a better place.

Its only natural to want to lionize loved ones when they die

Thank you MERIDAH, I always said Bob wasn't just like family, he was family. Some of my very best days were with him, just an awesome person!
