Heya - Philly eh?
Gotta love the Jazz thing over there!! I am happy to be living in Manchester - home of the most diverse sounds in the UK.
If you are on the Sun Ra tip you gonna catch Gilles Peterson on Radio 1 - I think you can get this on Sirus radio over there or online on the BBC.co.uk radio Link. Hop on and join the midnight marauders.
Come fly by my journal and say hello.

MATTE: You have said elsewhere that Uz Jsme Doma are three things: music, words, and visuals. How do these three elements work together?
WANEK: These three things are all just the instruments, the ways to talk. But "the heart" is what is said, or what is attempted. Each instrument has its benefits or drawbacks. Visual art shows the form and colors-it evokes your visual experience....

Cobblestones Humble-a memoir about 10 minutes in Center City
I think I had forgotten just how big the world is in the modern age; until graced with a life not even four months old, whose wide eyes and nervous jumps indicate his honed hyper aware state. I have desensitized myself from the bustle of noise and clank of industrialized consumerism. I divorced myself from the...

I could read that for hours, sometimes you make my chest ache and my eyes water. It is simply tragic that I have not had the pleasure of your company yet.

I'd always thought that Robert Alda was just a movie/TV* actor, but on Daily Show Alan made it sound like he was this longtime nightclub guy.
*not that I'd seen him in anything besides a M*A*S*H episode

I have never heard the name alphonse-maybe we will name our next mouse after him.

Sliding Doors, huh? I can imagine. I'm sure that concept (of parallel lives) has been done well by someone. Offhand, the closest thing I can think of to a parallel-life movie is The Double Life of Veronique. Dunno if that counts- but rent it anyway, if you haven't.
