it's always strange when people compliment my nose because it's what i used to get made fun of for. it's the part of my body i used to be most self-conscious about. (not anymore -- too many people have said it's a good nose and now i believe them!)

What do you mean that you'd love to "rewrite" the Odyssey? you mean translate? hrmmmmm.
The Aeneid is dry in the middle but it's incredibly meta. that is, it takes shit from tragedy, the odyssey, and the iliad and makes its own product. It takes events from these works and creates events that LOOK like those events, but it's totally different and unique. uhm. yeah. heh.
I pretty much hate Paradise Lost but I gotta give it props. It's fuckin genius and encyclopedic. but. that doesn't mean I have to like it. heh.

It's weird seeing all these people who come on SG had get shit loads of friends. In a way I am envious. I know that it probably has to do with having a social life, but sadly I don't have much of one.
I feel your lack of motivation. I can barely muster a decent post right now, it's shocking.
and as for your social issues, without trying to sound like an infomercial, I was once like yourself. I mean, I still have a general hatred of most people, but I met some that are actually pretty ok and now I have fun.
And it just so happens those people were met through this very site.
