You are getting hosed (shit..sorry about that). My landlord is a total moron about that kind of stuff as well. I had a bad leak during the tremendous rains we had last month--but luckily it was over my shower (thank gawd!). I just told him I would refuse to pay rent until he got it fixed. Two weeks later, the whole building got a new roof. Good luck
And the bounced check thing--sounds wierd. I have noticed that the online statement is always the last in line to post any transactions on my account. Sucks. $165 in fees? WTF?!?
