You have a huge heart, Bailey. I'm trying to figure out the best way I can help on my tight budget. I'll try to put a little something extra in the package I send to you for Brookelynne.
Where to start? Back in September of 2002, I guess. At the very first SGNY party Bailey was the first SG that I ever met. She was one of my favorite models from the very first time I saw her sets and meeting her in person back then seemed so surreal. You can just see how Irish she is. The freckles, the pale skin, the kind of cute in a quirky sort of way you can't put into words exactly.
That first night Bailey made the party what it was and set the standard for all the SGNY events to come. We had so much fun it should have been illegal and probably was. It was a night that those of us there will never forget.
Bailey is the kind of person that you can't help but notice when she walks into a room. It's kind of like an earthquake, no more like a hurricane. She makes her impression felt. Some might find it charming, some might find it abrasive, and some are downright intimidated by her. That's the way it goes with strong personalities. And Bailey is strong. Bailey is real. You never have to question her motives or mood. She tells it like it is and makes no excuses.
Through the course of the next year and a half we have become good friends. Chatting on occasion on the phone, on AIM, and whenever we have the chance at parties. We're the type of friends though that are not demanding of each others time. We talk when we talk, and that's that. We never had to define what we are.
One of the finest moments in my life, one of the biggest middle fingers I ever stuck up, was with Bailey. She had come to visit for a party and the next morning we went out for breakfast to a diner in the town where I grew up. My town is such a well to do, ritzy kind of town. All polish on the surface, to hide the flaws beneath. So here it was a sunday morning and all the stuffy old folks dress in their sunday morning church best, and in we walk. Bailey had on a sleeveless top with all of her beautiful tattoos showing and the looks on the faces of these pseudo posh snobs was absolutely priceless. I was so proud to be seen with her.
