while living on ft. richardson, ak, we had our next door neighbor (townhouse style apartments) as the buildign coord.... he got so pissed at my husband propping our screen door open about 5inches to make it easier for me to open on crutches that we came home one day to find it bashed in so hard we had to pry it open with a shovel on the outside while i leaned on it from the inside (thank god for back doors)...
here, i have no problem with my stairwell neighbors, but i've had to sit through dull, dull, dull meetings about their drama. apparently all except the one other white couple in the stairwell are friends, doing the cookouts and playing cards together, etc. nice... but this other white couple are a couple of pain in the ass psychos. they've called the cops on everyone BUT me, i guess. -even on my next door neighbor for having too loud a party on a saturday night (where the most i've ever heard is the occasional laugh through my open windows & this couple lives on my side 2 flights down!).
additionally, it really says something that i don't worry if i chain my bike up off post at the store or such, but on-post i carry it up & down the flight of stairs each time i use it so i can lock it inside my storage room. i do not trust military post general masses.
definitely getting warm/hot here. i have the fan in the hall, windows open, etc most days... afternoon when the sun hits the livingroom side of the building it's bad in here. after last summer's heat i'm seriously thinking of getting a hammock to string on the balcony to sleep in at night, maybe a kiddy pool for the daytime, too. bleh.
