Shrinking photos should cause no distortion. There should be an option for maintaining the original aspect ratio, then you input either height or width and the system fills in the other one to keep the proportions unaltered. The images should be very clear if they are reduced as opposed to enlarged. Let me know what you are using and I can make terribly clever suggestions if you wish.

Speaking of wishes, this seems a good time to wish you Happy Birthday. Granted, it's a wee bit late, but consider that I tend to be late remembering my closest friends' birthdays, so in that light it's nothing short of a compliment. If you ever need help rationalizing, you know who to call for that too.
