it took me all summer but i discovered i really love swimming. a new water park opened near by and i have a feeling that i'll be visiting it a lot. its just not as much fun when its so crowded with kids, but when you stay till closing time its awesome. there aren't lines for the slides or anything....

i do not like going to bars, but i went out tonight with my roommates. a total stranger started tugging on me trying to get me to dance with him but i told him several times i wasn't interested. about 15 minutes later he came back and dumped his beer on my head. it was disgusting and i really thought i was putting off enough...

i got a new gerbil to keep xiu xiu company. she's really cute and much more easy going than xiu xiu. i'll put some pictures of them up soon.

i think things are looking up. i've been increadibly introspective these past couple of days and i think its paying off. i dont know that ive come to many solid conclusions, but all the confilict and confusion is getting me somewhere. i dont think that life ever really becomes clear until you royally fuck up and have to spend some time thinking about your priorities....

the devendra banhart show was a lot of fun. all three bands were amazing. it was definately worth the drive, the heat, the $7. i mean i would have driven to des moines anyway just to see friends, so the awesome show just gave me a good excuse.

i need to get some pictures up of xiu xiu. she's adorable.

my new gerbil xiu xiu is so cute. i think she's getting used to me. she doesnt run away quite so vigerously when i try to catch her. she poops on me a lot, so i just have to get her to run around a bit before i hold her.
