Room selection today. I couldn't find a roomate in time so I was put on a waitlist even though I had an 8/250 lotto number. I signed up to triple with someone, and now feel that I've made a horrible mistake. The thought of spending two more years here is mind numbing........

Saw Sin City at 4:55 today, I was quite proud of finding out where the bus actually stopped (and the schedule), and of saving $10 on cab fare. It was...interesting. One of my caveats with the movie was that it substituted too much gore for action. Seriously...and this is coming from someone who liked Kill Bill. I liked the soundtrack

This movie not only reminded me a lot of the comic, but -also- reminded me a lot of noir films from the 40s. I dug that. The men in the film were so rugged and dangerous... and the women... the women were gorgeous and dangerous too.

Hmmmm The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams is coming out as a movie soon. Now I want to read it again...that and the other books. There was talk that His Dark Materials Trilogy was going to be made, but for some reason the references to religion, the Church, and its conflict with science was going to be diluted/erased. the pope thang, yes my xtremely sharpened secular self has breathed a sigh of relief that we can finally brand that thing 'EVIL DEAD'- PART 5000. I still think he's been dead for years and they've been propping up his wax version self by strategically placed fishing line, after all, the homophobic, mysogynist fuckhead hadn't muttered a word of sense EVER in its lifetime, so it wasn't exactly noticable when they'd dub nonsensical speech into the microphone for him when he had already kicked the proverbial bucket... but as we know there's always another scab of hate to take it's place.
