Yay Red Sox! Now they just have to beat the damn Yankees...

Hockey season starts tomorrow. This is fair warning for those of you who don't enjoy the Tanguay updates. smile

Speaking of hockey--RIP, Dan Snyder. A stupid fucking accident took you way too early.

I hope all of you californians are voting today...

edit: Go tell Midori how hot she is!!

Hmmm, I don't know why I thought "Tulane"--strange. At any rate, that's very unfortunate.

The new design hurts my eyes... blackeyed

this has been one odd week.

boot to the skull and bleeding head wounds (oh, and pics are up for those of you who dig the gore). multiple hour-long late night long distance phone calls (you know who you are). dancing with myself. because there's never anyone worth dancing with. money rock'n'roll, blues explosion style. avant-garde performances of already avant-garde plays. french existentialism. old crushes...

You know exactly what I'm talking about
Don't drag the orchestra into this thing
Rattle those sticks, rattle those sticks
The sound is beautiful, its perfect!
The sound of her young legs in stockings
the rhythm of her walk, it's beautiful
Just let it twist, let it break
let it buckle, let it bend
I wnat the noise of my zoo music girl
zoo-music girl...

Hey - where I go, the orchestra goes. If you can't handle that I think you may have some orchestra issues to work out.

You know I forgot to mention yesterday that I thought Lost In Translation was really fucking good. Scool of Rock was awesome too. Seeing two really good movies in the same week is a rare treat for me.

Hrm. What an interesting night:

I worked all day. Had a really cool table leave me a $50 tip at the end of my shift, and then headed for the Bouncing Souls show.

Tsunami Bomb have the cutest girl singer on the planet. I fell in love. Then I made my way to the front of the stage for the Bouncing Souls, and right after...

Hey, I have a question, so I'm coming to the resident film guru around here. I just saw Lost In Translation and at the end when Bill Murray whispers something in Scarlett Johansson's ear that seems to make them both feel better and kinda smile, the music overwhelmed the sound of Murray's voice and you couldn't hear what he said. Was this like a piece of intentional mystery so we could kinda provide our own ending (like maybe they're gonna meet back in L.A. or something) or is my hearing just bad and you really could hear what he said? What's your take?

"It's sort of social. Demented and sad, but social."

That's my life these days. wink Nah, it's not that bad. I went out for drinks after work last night with a friend, and ended up hanging out by myself and chatting with this guy. He's very nice, but it's damn hard to talk to people without leading them on. I miss having boy-friends but they either...

God do I ever know exactly what you mean. I've always been the girl that hangs out with all they guys and usually has a guy for a best friend too. But too often things get really weird after a while. Secret affections for me seem to arise and things go all to hell from there. I've tried to talk to a guy about this too but they swear I love the attention and it wasn't until I started to cry that he thought I wasn't bullshit. Most guys jus can't take it for what it is... they assume they're is something else going on.

Finding good conversation in general seems to be such a challenge. I'm working towards singlehood myself right now after 4 years of relationship nonstop. But he's moving far away and we've got to be realistic. Another reason why I haven't been around here much lately. Finding myself again and all that jazz. *hearts sqp*

Ever have one of those moods where you don't really feel like doing anything--not that you just want to sit around, but that NOTHING sounds like a good option? Going out or staying in or any of the places you could go...

Anyway, I got over it and went to see the Swingin' Utters and Youth Brigade last night at the Climax Lounge (by myself,...

Why are guys named Johnny so cool?

All those movies, Johnny Rotten, Johnny Thunders, the grandaddy of them all, Johnny Cash...

I've only had one friend named Johnny, but he was pretty cool too.

Something in the name?

I need a gang of boys on Triumphs to sweep through my town and take me with them wherever they're going.

I'm sure it was what was INSIDE the shirt that attracted the attention, my dear. Hopefully, the boy's name was Johnny and he had a CCM bag slung over his shoulder.

Ha! No I do think they deserve the bad sex they're having! Bad sex is worse than no sex!

I happen to be very friendly with one of those "gangs" of boys here in Vancouver. And hey! At least one of them is named Johnny! I'll be touring through your neighborhood someday with two of those boys, Johnny and Lil Bastard (tee hee), but we'll be coming through town in our Suburban, "Sherman," rather than on bikes, so I don't know if that'll do it for you. But let me know if you want me to hook you up next time you're in Vancouver!

I got some sad news last night.

my phone rang while I was at work. I was not busy, so I answered it. it was a professor from my former university, collecting donations for a scholarship fund in the name of a professor who'd died over the summer. I didn't even know he'd been sick. frown

I only had one class with him, but he was...

1) West Coast...more specifically, California...still more specifically, SoCal. I LOVE L.A.!

2) I am the ugly American. I only speak English. French sounds prettier, though. Around here Spanish would be more useful, though.

3) I guess, Pirates. I'm not a huge fan of his (not being a girl). I think the only other ones I've seen are Edward Scissorhands and Chocolat. I found both of those merely OK, nothing special. I'll probably rent Cry Baby. I like John Waters and that's one of only a couple of his I haven't seen.

You know, that's a great question. I feel like Jack White is rapidly outgrowing the whole guitar/drums concept. I can't imagine where he goes from here other than to work with a larger band. I never wanna see him leave Meg, though. She is AMAZING live. So much attitude. Their show was great. YYYs were good (Karen O rules) but I wish they would have played more fast songs.
