I'm going to Melbourne on Boxing Day. I might stay there for a couple of weeks, or maybe a couple of months. Might make a quick trip to Adelaide. Then I'm off to Nepal and Bangkok.

Dude, Nepal and Bangkok? Yep, awesome. Himalayas and angry Maoists and Buddhist temples and sweaty, dirty summers and supposed terrorist dangers, I'm a-comin' for ya'.

Can you please tell this stupid little american girl what 'boxing day' is for? My kiwi friend celebrates it with her family...usually by drinking before noon...I know it's written on my calendar, but I have no idea what it is.

Anyway, I know it's been a while since I left any comments in your journal...and now that I finally have some time off from my hectic schedule, I'm using it to catch up with all of my favorite sg folks.

I hope you're well! I miss our early morning (for me) hung over chats! kiss

sounds like an awesome trip ahead, have fun and stay safe..

merry xmas, hope you and your family have a great day..

Yes, and so ends that tale...

Or does it?!

That's the cue for spooky, enigmatic music. Where are you music man, where are you? Where is the spooky, enigmatic music? I'll settle for Billy fucking Joel here.

Thank you to those who read it. I was hoping for some vicious, unrestrained critiques, but I can deal with compliments. I can.

'Hey dude,' I hear you...

I met up with Matt for a drink during his lunchbreak. He was wearing a well-cut suit and a cheap blue tie. His hair had too much gel in it. At one point during drinks, he leant forward to tell me about the stresses he was having at work, and he ran a hand through his hair. His hair didnt move at all. I didnt...

In fact this is one of the best journal entries I have read, and I have read a fucking few in my time brother.

I was lying on her white pleather couch with my head in her lap. She was wearing that white singlet. Her nipples were hard. I liked that. We were watching reality television with vague disdain, hers genuine, mine an affectation. I looked up at her.

I had lunch with Matt today, I said.

Hows he? she asked, concentrating more on her cultural disdain than the...

Ha! Yes - a bit of that too wink (assuming you meant married women as a source of desire and self-loathing)

that makes me sadder than sad. no one is coming out to see me off. frown

I was lying on her bed, watching her take off her singlet. Her back was facing me, and she was talking about the weather. Its too hot today, she said, I think.

I watched as she slowly slid the singlet up her back, as if in slow motion, exposing the bottom of one of her breasts, bouncing briefly as it came out from under the...

I'll try to figure out the logistics of the whole sneak-to-Australia-and-back-without-getting-fired-and-still-having-enough-cash-for-mad-beer-drinking part of the plan.
redbstrd:
I actually do want to see Australia. I just don't know when. I can't take the time off right now, I couldn't afford it, etc., but it is a goal at some point.

I had to write a story in the style of Hemingway in high school. I will see if I still have it...

I'm in the process of tidying up my sun room and trying to put together a little crappy recording studio thing. It could be totally awesome. But I'll have to hire some strong giant goons to haul my organ up from the garage - it's like, a million fucking kilos. Seriously, I weighed it. A million fucking!

Once I get the organ up here, it'll...

That piece is quite large, about 24" x30". I'd be looking to sell if for about $300 US dollars. I'd have to find out how much it would cost to ship and insure traveling all that way.

Looks like the USPS chages $11.00 US for 4-6 day global shipping to Australia.
godsmoker:
Good luck with your studio man! Sorry for the lack of comments, but I'll be taking a break for a while. Happy holidays to you! smile

I get awfully frustrated with having to 'climb the ladder' and 'put in the hard yards' to get a career going. Like, I'm doing it regardless - and it's going decently - but I know I could do a lot more than I am now.

Well, I know I could be making a lot more money than I do now. But it'd involve doing work...

Had a great, drunken 21st last night. After I gave a speech with my mate Nick, an old lady said 'booo to your speech! Booooo!' I don't think she liked it. Regardless, everyone else did.

Post-party I saw Pink Grease. Fucking great show. I'd interviewed them earlier in the day with my friend Poppy. Such a good show. They're playing again this Monday. I'll have...

I bought or received so many bloody albums today: Pink Grease, Pink Floyd's Welcome To The Machine, Bruce Springsteen's Darkness On The Edge Of Town, Dylan's Times They Are A-Changin', Beastie Boys'To The Five Boroughs, U2's How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb which I've heard is crap and probably is, Air's Talkie Walkie, The Cruel Sea's The Honeymoon Is Over, The Vines' Highly Evolved, Rolling...

I bought GTA: San Andreas last Friday, and I've been nerding the fuck out since. I haven't ever bought a PS2 game before - usually I score 'em free - but it was so worth forking out $100 for GTA. Best game ever? Yep.

I should really get out of the house though. This nerdiness will no doubt drive me batty.

A nice weekend.

Saw one of my favourite bands, and one of the best live bands in Australia, TISM play one of their best shows ever on Friday.

Saturday was spent relaxing and then briefly drinking in the city. I hadn't had a beer for about two weeks, and the hot weather demanded I get back into that sweet game.

Sunday involved a Christmas gathering...
