The Penrith Panthers are going to win this year. Seriously, Rhys Wesser and Preston Campbell are fucking spectacular. I've got to get out west and check out some games; it's been far too long and when Penrith parties, it really goes nuts. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad.

Driving is still going well. I'm really quite confident now, and absolutely loving getting...

Take it slow - there is no rush, seriously.

I got my license at the ripe ol age of 25 - 'cause I had to for my job. It took me forever to learn too because I was such a scaredy cat. I think learning later actually helped me become safer and got me out of a few scrapes too. I've been in three car accidents - none my fault - hit from behind and one sandwich - the last one was two years ago - 18 year old red P plater in a 4WD (there should be a special driving test for those cars) - anyway, he totalled my car and could have almost killed me. Shoulda seen his face when I was put on a stretcher....I hope he has learnt to be more careful. Thankfully I'm ok now , but living with a weak back forever...

Hey, thanks for saying so! I'm at that stage where I kinda forget it's there, but every now and then I catch a glimse in the mirror and get all warm and fuzzy.

I do love it so!

I prop Phil Collins too much. A mate recently pointed out that part of the reason I like him so much is because no one else does. Which, indeed, is probably true.

But seriously, Roof Is Leaking is a fucking beautiful song. Sussudio is pop brilliance, if not lyrical. In The Air Tonight has the best bit of any song ever (yeah, when the drums...

I can't help but think of American Psycho when listening to Phil Collins.

I have wanted to do a punked out version of "In the Air Tonight" for years.
lurch83:
YOU RANG HA HA HA. actually that is why i got the nickname. deep voice and tall. labelled for life. no complaints though.

phil collins does rock. and "in the air tonight" was used by DMX for the tune and chorus and it was still goo. reminds me of being the backseat driver with mum and dad. good times. wtf was his bands name again? they were good too. got an lp just too lazy to get up and look.

how good on the basketball court. man i miss playing. damn that fucked knee. can't even dunk anymore. that really sucks.

Just had like, my third driving lesson ever. My first involved me hitting a parked car. My second involved me learning the gears on the old, rusty van I'm learning in. And the third involved me driving down the freeway at crazy speeds at night, and roaming the crowded suburban streets, avoiding the drunks. It was so exciting - I can actually really fucking drive...

I was wondering when someone wasn't going to pat me on the back for that!

There's part of me that wishes I'd just gone for it .. but I know I wouldn't wanna see her again. She works at my local shops and I pass where she works a lot ... It would just be weird.
evergreen_____:
Haha. I suppose they do. Not here though. Only twinkies in short skirts or tight jeans.

In Australia I might be able to curb the violent urges. Beating Australians with their uggs would be like beating them for their accent.

I wear an oilskin and blunnies, but at least I work with horses in them wink

I have no excuse for hating them though, really.

I'm back in Sydney, and have been for a week or so now. It really is great to be back. I had put off writing a journal entry for a while, because I wanted to pack my next one - this one here - full of incredible reflections on my trip, as well as a bevy of exciting photos.

But right now, I just can't...

I'm still in Delhi, and by christ I can't wait to get out of it.

I'm staying in a marble building three storeys above the city. The place has character, and cold, clean water, but that's all I can really say about it as a place to live temporarily. Although, I suppose, I'm appreciative of the fact that it's height means I'm far from the...

yes, boomerangs and koalas. also yes to "g'day" all over the place. the menu is really obnoxious. here's their online menu but you need to enter a US zipcode to see anything. just type in 5 numbers. 234xx will turn up a lot.

not a lot of chances to eat kangaroo or emu here. do you eat koalas too? with or without fur?

my mother was born in india - always wanted to go there because of that I guess... be interesting if you find anything good about the place!!!!

I am in India, and have been for some time now. As you may or may not know.

I arrived in Delhi, and was immediately shocked and appalled by the mad fatalism that Indian roads run on. Driving here involves a healthy disrespect for your own life, and your passengers', as well as a strong right hand, used for beeping the horn every 3 seconds....

In 2003, my favourite musician ever committed suicide. At least, it's though he did. Either way, he left decades too early, leaving behind a recorded catalogue that would rival any.

And now, in 2005, my favourite writer ever did the same, apparently. It's some comfort that he was 67, leaving behind decades of the best words ever put down on paper. From politics, to drugs,...

some of it - though, he's hardly the person to blame the most. actually, i think the US government probably has far more to do with the lack of ease for people to move and work between the countries.
