"Certainly no aspect of human biology in our current civilization stands in more history of scientific knowledge and courageous humility than that of sex. The history of medicine proves that in so far as man seeks to know himself and face his whole nature, he has become free from bewildered fear, despondent shame, or arrogant hypocrisy. As long as sex is dealt with in the...

The Chemical Brother's Star Guitar reminds me of my own brain chemistry - constantly ebbing and flowing, shifting, receding, raising, changing. I liken it to the fluidity of 4-way stop traffic - systematically shifting and working together, but with the constant sense that something small could interupt that motion and cause minor disturbances or major collisions.

Thanks for the offer! I'll let you know as soon as things settle down. September - November is a very hectic time, it seems. I'm glad we could cheer you up even just a little bit!

dont update that much....hmmm
Some guy got shot outside my work on Sunday. The puddle of blood was still there on the sidewalk on Monday. It was...disheartening. Someone left a dozen roses and some candles on the site, but by noon, a homeless lady had picked them up and was trying to sell them on the corner. Humanity...

Humans are so dumb.
My kitty, Moog, was sitting in my lap and cuddling, purring while I read journals, but then she got jealous that my hands were lavishing more attention on the keyboard than her, so she scratched me. I pushed her off my lap, and then she realized that she had lashed out, and came back to apologize. Now she is comfortably back in my warm lap.
feifer:
is your cat named after robert moog, the synthesizer pioneer?
I've been really addicted to Irish/Scottish rockers the past week - mostly Dexy's Midnight Runners and Belle and Sebastian. Ate all you can eat sushi to my delight.

hehe, well, thank you
I died my hair nuclear red. It started as a bright flaming red, but it is quickly fading to a red-orange. I have rather devilish eyebrows now.

oooh sounds wicked
So...working at a bookstore = me getting re-addicted to reading, which is good for me. I've read 1984 and Lolita just sitting at work, and I've expanded my library by about 10 books, and I have a drawer full of books waiting for me to buy them. My pocketbook will be aching sometime in the near future.
nonsense:
it was very nice to meet you too. roxymonoxcide and i are going through the same thing you are. she's been working at a bookstore for a few months now, and we haven't even had enough time to read all the books we've bought recently.
jeremy:
yeah, that was me at the dinner! nice to meet you
So the concert I previously mentioned...last concert for Ozma, ever. They broke up the following Friday. I was sad.
Then I went to visit my dad in Montana for a week. That was OK. I did enjoy the local hotsprings...twice.

w00t for conversion!
Also, don't worry about not being able to make as many events. I've lived here almost two years and there are LOTS of events I haven't gone to. Just make sure you can go to Prom and Disneyland
Glad you're part of the groups.

Thanks for all the information. Since the band is playing out again and since I have more money with which to actually go out these days, I expect that I will probably meet people soon. But it's hard to meet new people after college, especially in a new place. Thanks again.
Went to the Ozma concert this evening. They were great, but unfortunately, they were opening for Rooney - meh. The crowd was mostly middle school and high school kids +parents, so basically pretty annoying. It was still worth it tho.

Yeah, I hate it when I go to see a band I like and it's all little kids and their moms. That's the worst. Of course, then I remember when I was 14 and going to shows and everyone was cool to me. But then again, I didn't have my mom dragging me around all over the place.
Though she did come with me to see The Cure once. But that's just because she's cool like that.

Rocky was great. I actually ran into a couple of cute Asian twins that I had brought as virgins over a year ago. Apparently they've been coming ever since. So my internship is finally over, and I actually have time on my hands. What a novel idea.
Holy crap! I forgot to update - new piercings. So exciting. I got my nostril and my coochie...

LONG BEACH
ROCKY HORROR SATURDAY NIGHT!
OK you SGLBCers, I'm going, and I'm bringing friends, and you should come too. It will be loads of fun. Anyone who feels like meeting me there, its midnight at Art Theatre on 4th St. You should recognize me.

NEWS!
I not only got approved for the apartment, but have already moved in and adopted two kitties! We have an ugly orange couch, DSL (after a month of back and forth phone calls with the assholes at Verizon), and a brick and board bookcase already in need of expansion. Things are going well. I even have a car now. Mobility rocks.

Yeah, just the one thing we were going to invite you to for SGLBC, but for the fact that they're pretty stringent on the whole ID check thing.
Actually, there isn't a whole lot we do in Long Beach that isn't 21+. If you have any ideas, let me or Kiddo know. Otherwise, I'd keep my eyes open for an SGLA open event. There are a lot more private parties, 18+ clubs, dinner events and that sort of thing up there. The last one SGLA had was a goth/industrial night called Wumpskate at a rollerskating rink up there, but that was a while ago. I'll let you know if one comes up.
You ever go to any LA/Hollywood clubs?
Oh, and congrats on the apartment. Whereabouts are you at now?

Yeah, where'd you find your apartment? I'm looking for a new one...
Also, I'm thinking of planning an outing to the Pike (gameworks, cold stone creamery, the new cinemark theater) and maybe going down to Shoreline Village. That'll definitely be all ages.

Indecently, it is quite rare to encounter someone with the fortitude to match the eyebrows to the hair. Go you.
