Long weekend:
My daughter got sick early Saturday morning. Cleaning up vomit at 4:30 in the morning is a parenting milestone that certainly snuck up on me. Fortunately, it was nothing that 7-Up, soda crackers, TLC and a new stuffed Zebra (hence dubbed "Stripey") could not handle. She was completely rehabilitated and rejuvenated today, so everything is fine with her now.

I've never found the GOP all that conservative, especially under this administration, which seems to think the wheels of democracy can be greased with cash and oil. It's nice to see someone looking at this state like I do, though I've never actually considered it a part of the south. We were on the other side of that particular war, which might be our only credit. That and Gilligan.
The flood waters have finally receded so that I may once again get my daughter and visit semi-civilization for awhile today. I haven't seen her in a couple of weeks, and her prolonged absence has been bothering me a great deal. I might write more later, but right now I need to get ready to hit the road.
