Ever notice that when you have your friends on random rotate or whatever it is, at least one person you're thinking of in the back of your mind always shows up on the list?

yeah, that's why i still haven't seen Clerks 2... the thought of being surrounded by a large body of kevin smith fans_of the type that got in because everyone in their dorm told them to watch jay & silent bob strike back_frankly terrifies me. I tend to just pick up movies on dvd. The 3 movies I've been to this year trounce the 1 I saw at a theatre last year (though that one was amazing in it's own right... Jonathan Scheck and a bunch of mexican actors repeating the lines they'd learnt phonetically? Words escape me.)

Industry/Work gossip makes my silly little world go round. It's like finding out how everyone ticks, and getting to find out intimate things about how the gossiper thinks.

I'm not talking water-cooler gossip like who's porking whom though, cause that'd just be dirty and wrong. wink

Just got my bill from the surgery - I read the bills as seen by the doctors and almost cried...

Yesterday was one of those days of unusual clarity. It started out with the flight back home. I've made an art of never, ever checking baggage unless circumstances are very unusual. Yesterday, obviously, was quite unusual. It didn't end up being too much of a pain in the ass but in principal the whole thing makes my heart hurt. I can't shake the feeling that...

Whee! I'm sitting around the house feeling lonely and a bit sorry for myself today. It comes back to those choices and goals, it's time to get a move on. I've got some decisions I know I need to make soon and it'll require doing things I'm really not looking forward to, like moving again a few months down the line. As good as it's...

Ass end of the universe... reminds me of how people used to tell me to move closer to my last job, which was just outside of Park City (you know, sundance film festival park city). And my animosity for my prior job aside, I would just laugh at them. Why? It's so far from... anything. Sure they have the stuff you need but nothing that i want. Give me big city, thanks. I can then "get away from it all" on a vacation or something.

Speaking of dirty old men. I work at a retirement home and have three of the geezers there trying to feel me up. It's pretty funny actually. They are almost blind, deaf and can't hardly speak but they zoom in on boobies (under scrubs!!) with uncanny accuracy.

Is it really weird that I let the cute one pat my fanny when I change him?? Haha

What actor or actress do you feel like, no matter whether the movie's overall good or bad, if they're in it you'll likely enjoy it anyway?
For me that's Ron Perlman. Something about his delivery of dialogue, even if it's largely monosyllabic grunts.

Yesterday was an awesome day. Had delicious cuban food with Automatic, then did a wee bit of plant ogling before I...

I have a ton of cleaning to do myself.

I don't know how the house gets so crazy when I am not even here most of the time!

Weird.
The kitties must be partying while I am gone.
I need to learn some good vegan stuff. Right now I am working on vegetarian delights.

I don't have particular actors or actresses but I have a strange addiction to dance/cheerleading/gymnastics competition movies.

huh....
yumchen:
I think I like them in a dirty old man way. It shames me a little.

What are you headin to san jose for?

Jon and I are going to his cousins wedding.

Today's excitement:
Hours of lounging around and reading - I've been stealing peeks at this book while I've been visiting the boy lately, while he's off staring at his computer. It started out dull as snot and kinda pissed me off at points, but it had a few suggestions I've found worthwhile. It put a bug up my butt about finding the sort of goals...

Oh man. I went to the Dunny party last night, and completely geeked. Apparenty I can negotiate, as long as the person is 20 years my junior. wink
I ended up with all but one of the ones I reeeally wanted, including one entirely unexpected and wonderful extra.

Funny you should have a journal up about this. tongue

I was at Compound yesterday, and while I hadnt let myself get sucked into the whole Dunny craze prior, I bought one, and introduced my girlfriend to them. She bought three. Then the bug bit her, and she ordered 12 more from their website that evening. lol. I've told her about this journal entry of yours, and I bet she'll be commenting you soon. wink

I think I may have been bitten a little bit, too. I'll probably end up swinging past compound today, and I'll likely pick up two more Dunnies. surreal

They are sooo cute and sooo evil. Just how I feel about BUNNIES-- and Mr. dovienya. I bought too many.

I don't suppose you'd like to make a trade for an Attaboy Welsh Rarebit or a Crash Test Dunny?

The other day I was at this party, and the house it was held at was her parents' house. The mom is this crazy-insane awesome gardener, who has had her importer's license for over a decade. She has these gorgeous, well-established plants growing there that are only recently available here. Her gardens have been pictured in some of my favorite garden-geek media, so I kept...

Ya know what sucks about the heat? Oh, aside from the heat. The weather's fucking up my nose. Fuck this heat! Sideways, with a pitchfork!!

Ya know what sucks about trying to become a vegan for health reasons? It's hot and I'm feeling very tired and lazy. This means I just don't want to eat at all. That's not very healthy.
estrada:
Dietary problems?

What sucks is even after you strip the clothing off it is still frustratingly hot and the soaked clothes that would have been cooling with a breeze are nowhere to be found.

I could go for some beans and rice... mmm...

I want to see A Scanner Darkly. I think I will tomorrow.
cheech:
What sucks about trying to be vegan would be, I assumed, that BBQ meat is amazing.

Highlights of the trip:
* Flat screen m.f-ing TV in the hotel bathroom. Cause that's how I roll. wink
* Making a bathroom full of women say "Wow..."
* Being interviewed for my very first podcast.
* Getting called a "role model" by a female cyber-crime FBI agent (cause holy cow, she's a rockstar role model!)

I took out about 10 more bullet points of going...

This weekend was all about the consequences of choices about priority. I've had to make some pretty drastic choices lately, and let other things fall by the wayside. Painful decisions with painful consequences, though I think longterm it was the right thing to do.
Looks like now might be time to make some adjustments, as the time for drastic measures has passed.

It's a funny thing about other people questioning your motives... it turns out, it's the ones where it comes from people questioning their own similar motives that sting the most. But knowing that makes it a lot easier to take.

I got a call from a friend the other day, which got cut short, as we're both very busy girls. She started to hint at...
