Last Night:

I spent last night in a bar waiting for someone that never showed up. At least I forgot my phone in my car and missed the call that said "Sorry, but I can't make it".

Lesson: Do not forget your cell phone in your car when meeting someone.

It's been a long time since I've had a beer (or three) on a Monday...

I'm starting to love political cartoons. They seem so much funnier now that the government is acting like one big comic strip. I feel like I'm walking through Doonsbury daily.

I'm not liking Monday, although it is sunny outside.

I went to look at apartments yesterday. Eight of them. either they where nice and unaffordable, or affordable and pieces of shit. What the hell is going on in the world?

Eh... another Saturday night wasted in time. I really dislike uneventful weekends. I work all week, 9 to 5, so I expect a little excitement when the week winds down. Oh well, better luck...

I watched my brother's truck get hit by a Grand Am this morning.

It was very surreal. I get this call on my cell phone at 8:45am from a guy responding to my "Singer Wanted" CityPaper ad. I stand outside my car door, looking toward the right rear, and watch my brother back his truck out of an adjacent parking space. Next thing I know,...

Watership Down truly puts new meaning to Monty Python's use of "The killer bunnies are coming!!!" a friend of mine told me he had to watch the movie in high school. hmm...that leads me to another point, i had to read Lord of the Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird, Slaughterhouse-Five, The Lottery...and society is so quick to blame video games for adolescent violence. I'm placing the blame where it belongs, on Mr Caugherty, my high school english teacher. damn you to hell, caugherty!
wow, where the <bleep> did that come from???

A Rambling

I never watch TV drama, but I sat here and watched TV's most adored attempt at commercial sales..."The West Wing".

I can sum up this show quickly:
1) Something happens in America(tm).
2) Two people start an argument in some room of the White House.
3) An Extra, playing a secretary, walks in and spouts "They're ready for you".
4) Cut to commercial...

How about that Guinness. biggrin

So tonight was one of those rare occasions where I spend an evening with my brother. We are sooooo different. I find myself attempting to talk football stats just to make conversation. Kinda sucks when two years difference seems like a thousand. Anyone else have that problem? Eh....Family.

I'm more attractive though.

Did anyone see Cube? I bought it two days...

I can't believe you heard about this up there! It was totally not their fault. There was this sketchy window that has been sketchy for the last 5 years or so that we've been doing shows there. Well, they used to have a mattress up against it just for protection...well, the landlord had "supposedly" fixed it, and they didn't put the mattress there. And it was just when the crowd was shifting, the window gave way and the force of the crowd pushed the people out. I have a friend who actually had grabbed ahold of someone's ankle on the way out, and couldn't hold onto him. It's a true tragedy, and the kids that live there are completely shook up. The sad thing is that the guy who died was a freshman, had only been in college for a month, and was probably attending one of his first shows. No one really even knew him. One other guy is still in critical condition and not responding, and breathing through a tube. I'll keep updates in my journal-we still don't know if anyone's going to press charges or not....

Cube was cool, check out Secretary, Igby Goes Down, and Spun too.

hmmm...why the random question mark im?

i'm that way with my family. i'm completely different from the rest of my family...they're all into horses and crazy stuff like that, and i'm just not. i'm a city girl in a family full of people who love the country. it's just crazy.

I just foud out that I'll be in DC October 18 to check out Superchunk! Exciting...I've never seen them before and figured that I never would.

I really wish I could make it down to see Pretty Girls Make Graves on the 15th, but I can't get work off in October for long periods of time. Damn.

I guess this would justify a countdown...

Ugh...Saturday...

So I'm flipping through pictures here and there and wondering...

What is it with this fairy (fairie, faerie, fariere, or however the hell you want to spell it) thing? Is it me or does every single woman aged 15-25 love these things. What did it? Was it "Legend"? Is there some wierd fantasy of women to have the same function as a common housefly? Is...

It's something about the delicacy, I think, the ability to land on a leaf or a flower and have it barely move underneat you. I would love to be a butterfly. But if I were a fairy, I would get to keep my sexy girl-curves and flit around in the woods.

It's not just fairies though. Angels too. I would love to come home and find a winged girl drinking champagne in my bed. Catholic School-Girl Innocense meets Victoria's Secret Angel Campaign. It's the purity on that one.
