most of them really do believe themselves to be of such privilage that it excuses any abuse of trust. it is even more enraging that they believe it is for such an abstract absolute, i.e. 'the greater good'. because, of course, we are too poor and and ill-bred to know ration, compassion, and (god forbid) alturism.
