So I just finished another slam competition. The premise is that you get a team together and in 48 hours produce something. The last one was a New Media Slam. This time it was the Great Canadian Commercial Contest. Of course we do things right and bookend our 48 hours with drinking. Miles, the worldly drinker of the group introduces Kristin and I to the shoot, sniff anf snort shooter. Basically you light a shot of Zamboka and put it out with your hand. Shoot it as fast as you can then cover the shot again as quick as you can. You sniff the fumes of the shot up your nose them pour the reminants of the shot onto the table and snort it like a line of coke. Lets just say it's a better shot to get you going than to end the night. It's about the craziest shot I've ever done. I have pictures of Kristin doing one. Next time.

We put up our commercial for the great cc on roman-holiday.org, which was our last entry, but I don't know the url and the video is 200 megs. I'll post a link to the final video when we get a more reasonable resolution version available.

Overall the experience was great. I've never shot film before and we had to do a commercial for the BCSPCA. We used a dog, shot it on the beach and our commerical was very simple. I have a totally new respect for anbimal handlers in film. Jake, our dog ate his own shit within minutes of being on the beach. So gross. Totally set the mood for our day. Such fun. If you ever get the opportunity to do a slam of any kind, I highly recommend the experience.
