Went to see Melt Banana last Friday, way up in Denton. The crowd was very hipster/emo/indie rocker. In fact, not everyone in line could get in; the show sold out. And the music was absolutely PULVERIZING. Melt Banana have reached the proverbial "next level." There was a non-stop pit from start to finish. Insanity, insanity. A pit full of emo, college rock-looking kids is always funny. Where are the fucking punks these days?? Christ! Still, it was an amazingly energetic show -- stage diving, circle pits, all that good old stuff. I figure Melt Banana could power a small town with their newest CD, Cell-Scape. Their rhythm sections kicks everyone's asses. The bass player and drummer are god-like.
I'm 28, though, and the crowd was mostly 18 to 23 year olds, it seemed like. Made me feel old. I fixed that "getting old" feeling by getting drunk on wine. And worshipping Satan.
