It's only 7pm and I am stuck in my apartment because there's a small war outside my apartment complex... Monday night I came home from school to find my street closed off and right in front of my complex taped off with police tape, bullet holes in cars and dead people in the street.
My neighborhood used to be bad and all, but not like this. It used to be just some black guys and mexicans sitting around on the sidewalks drinking and smoking weed, occasionally some drunk fuckers would get in a fight and someone would get shot, but Ive found that to be pretty normal in low-income areas. But there's been a lot of colors around lately, lots of blue.. the crips are moving in to my shitty mexican neighborhood. Every night the gunshots start (like today) before the sun is even all the way down.
I put in my 30 days notice today. 30 days is a long fucking time.

The gangs are expanding into parts of the valley, and in any "new market" there's bound to be skirmishes over who controls what. Keep your head low, man...
