I'll be gone for a week (sniff) because of a single reason: death.
A close friend of mine from high school lives in NC and was hit by a car that was out of control. Since he has no other family my friends and I are heading down to wrap things up. I have to clean up his place and make sure the funeral is carried out according to his wishes. He doesn't have a will but another one of our friends is a lawyer and he's managed to convince a judge that we be allowed to sell his posessions and give the money to various charities that our friend supported in life.
-----update----
Funeral is tomorrow, making sure everything is packed up and cleaned up and moved out will be by later this weekend.
Turns out that he has a kid that he was on the way to visit and he was also about to propose to his longtime girlfriend (who he had the child with).
So, we're going to setup a trust fund for the kid instead and since my friend was quite well off we're bequeating half of the estate to his gf so that she can raise the child as he would have done (she's well off too and she's a really really nice person and she's devestated).
Anyways, duty calls, l8r.

sorry to hear about that, I've been in contact too much with death, I know how hard it is. It's awesome of you to set up the trust fund for his kid, the world needs more decent people like you.
