Well well well...1 week almost...oh well...(update: $862.50)
My labs have been killer lately...absolutely killer. Very very very very very informative though. I think I have a research topic to write a paper or maybe even a thesis. This could be big...of course...I have to find out if it has poisonous side-effects (for this plan it isn't good).
Watching Lawrence of Arabia right now...it's a great film...such a classic and there sooooo much desert. Of course...you'll notice that most of the film is shot on the same location but at different angles from the same rock. It's a long film that's really really good and I'll add it to my list of montly views.
Went to HMV today...bought a DVD for my mom that I had on hold. That DVD is: The Sound of Music. I'll get her the special edition later
She'll like that.
They used to make movies on such a grand scale back then...classic history films. They still do but they're about much more recent history. Would like to see a really good film about Egyptian times without all the special powers and such. Gladiator was a good one...maybe something about Alexander the Great...or maybe The Huns...
There was a time when all I wanted to do was build virtual worlds...the ancient greek worlds...rome...olde london...the first viking colonies. Build them and put people in them.
Several problems of course:
1) Computing power...it's just insane the amount you need but it'll be ok pretty soon.
2) How many people do we allow into this world.
I mention #2 because people tend to be bastards when they're online. They go around killing people and tend to be unfriendly. They think there are no consequences. I want to let everybody in...let them see what I see but I don't want them to bother people who are there to enjoy the view and the culture. The system would work whereby you'd register your credit card and if you killed somebody then you'd be charged a stiff penalty. This would give us your home address and would allow us to follow through with a civil/criminal suit (desctruction of intelectual property). Of course, in countries that don't have such laws we'd just send a squad to their door to kick their ass (a la Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back).
Of course...this leaves out the kids...they cause a lot of trouble but they're the ones that deserve to see the worlds in order to preserve history.
Anyhow...I have all the skills...I just need to get around to making a better world model...and two more things I need to do before that...but...before I get to those things I need time...for time I need to get some projects done...it's a never ending cycle of work...really could use some gaming experience.
Ok...time to get to sleep...have to get just a bit more energy.
