Actually, I'd prefer to carry a hatchet. They always seem to be in the "impulse buy" section near the registers at every hardware store I visit now. A few weeks ago, I was in line paying for a lawn chair (I don't hang out in any yards, but I put it in my trunk in case spontaneous outdoor sitting came upon me while driving), a new register was opened and a customer in line behind me jumped out and RAN for the open spot. I would have protested that I should go first (after all, I was ahead of him: isn't that some life-rule or something?) but his only purchase was a GIANT hatchet. Mind you, I live in a city, so unless he's some roaming lumberjack, who the hell knows why he was buying it!
