And speaking of old people, putting a parent into a nursing home sucks. Especially a dad.
Fuck parkinsons .. falls ... brain bleeds. It also sucks when your mother knows nothing about the finances.

And who knew nursing home insurance only lasts for 365 days? And who knew it would take over 7 months before the insurance check came in? And who knew if you loaned your parents $6000 with a notarized promissory note for repayment when the first insurance check came in , that Medicaid would not allow a child to be reimbursed? No gifts to children, they say. Apparently any check to a child is a gift, even with a promissory note explaining the circumstances of the loan.

So, filing for Medicaid has been a bitch, too.
