Today the UK gives thanks that all those nay-sayers and malcontents rebelled against the tyranny of kings, fleeing our shores to establish democracy in America. And never came back 🤣

To celebrate, I'm having a chicken breast fried in olive oil with root ginger, garlic and onion, served with Brussels sprouts and cranberry sauce and a glass of wine. 🥳

@TRAMAIS, sprouts get a bad press but I've always liked them. It seems the secret is not to eat food al dente but to cook it all through properly. When vegetables are soft it releases the sugars and other stuff making them yummy.

Right! Slightly caramelized, roasted Brussels sprouts are, indeed, quite yummy! Same with endives, by the way, but that's a little bit more of challenge to cook :) Hope you had a great celebration!

Of course, the Foundation saga is such a rich and complex universe! I appreciate your understanding of the differences between original works and their adaptations.  Your example with The Martian really highlights this contrast well — it's intriguing how dramatically the tone changes between the book and the film.

Even the original version is a cover version of the actual concept. And movies have to be abridged versions of novels because of time constraints - which is where mini-series score - plus adapting stories to different formats.
