December 8th, my birthday. I turned 46 today and thanks to the Army I am at Ft Jackson at one of my Officer schools. It really sucks being away from home and family on your birthday. I am not complaining, I put off the school, and I chose this date because I need to get this school done. It really is not all that much fun being away from family for weeks at a time anymore. Years ago it didn't bother me all that much. I did my job and went home, but since the last deployment it is just not the same. I am getting older and don't want to miss the kids, especially at this time of year. Oh well, life goes on and I will be home this weekend. Sorry for the downer.
