It always amazes me when people say that the U.S. gov't's policies don't promote freedom. Thoses same people seem to think that Communism is good. I don't understand that concept. On paper Communism is a great theory but that is all it is. It is impossible to have true communism unless you take away a person free will. Because no matter what you do someone will always find a way to get ahead. They get a bigger apartment or a nicer car or more food. Why do they do this, because they are in a higher spot than someone else. So it strictly is a theory and nothing else. Human nature will always put some people on top and some on the bottom. And as a final note if Communism is so great why is it that every Communist country has become a military state and if you try to leave it and were caught you were put in jail. Try to leave the U.S. we will open the door and tell you to get the hell out, if you don't want to be here don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way through it.

Then they start whining about how the poor stay poor because they can't afford to become rich. That is the biggest crock of bullshit I have ever heard in my life. It is more difficult for some people to get ahead but everyone in the U.S. has every opportunity to get rich. Some people just use the excuse of poverty to stay poor. If what you say is the truth then explain how Andrew Carnegie became one of the richest men in the world with only a 4th grade Scottish education. Why because he came to the U.S. and took advantage of the opportunities in front of him. Ok so that is an old example. How about the Korean market owner. He/she came to this country with nothing worked 2 or 3 jobs and saved up some money and started a business where there was a need for one. They usually go into poor neighborhoods and buy or open shops. They get ahead and take advantage of the opportunities in front of them. They don't try to open up in Beverly Hills. They understand it takes hard work and they don't expect anything to be handed to them. They may not ever become millionaires but guess what they now have more then they had in Korea.

U.S. policy does not promote freedom because there is no equal opportunity for same sex marriage. You are right in the fact that there is no equal opportunity for that but same sex marriage is not recognized by law so how can there be equal opportunity. Marriage is for the procreation of the species and not to share property. If you want to do that there are legal ways to set up a legal union. I simpathize with that plight but it doesn't fly in your argument. Let's talk about the fact that 2 men or 2 women are able to have a relationship with each other. Let's talk about countries that people have to hide the fact that they are gay. That is where freedom is not promoted.

You say we don't promote freedom in Iraq, I say I have been there and you don't know what you are talking about. You are listening to the news to much. We are already giving the country back to the Iraqi's. Before I left in the area that I was stationed in we were training there people to take over and had already given control of about 6 bases to the Iraqi Army. Sounds like freedom to me. Besides the fact that they now have a democratic gov't set up. Now it is up to them to make it work. You don't believe our policies don't promote freedom let's take a look at the world since WWII. Look at all the countries that were given to the USSR to look after and all the countries given to the U.S. to look after. All the countries with the U.S. are democracies and have freedom, all the countries under the USSR became Communist military states that were supported by the USSR and collapsed into bitter civil war after the collapse of the Iron Curtain.

You say soldiers can't think for themselves well guess what it is just the opposite. Soldiers are taught to think for themselves. My Grandfather told me that that was the reason we beat the Germans in WWII. He said they were better soldiers than we were but that they could not think for themselves. Once we took out their leaders they could not figure out what to do. He told me and I now know it in person that U.S. soldiers are taught there job and the job of the people above them. That way they can step up and do the job of the person above them if necessary. Also a lot of the safety items that we now have in Iraq all came from the ideas of soldiers and there is a part of the army that looks into soldiers ideas for all sorts of items to make the job easier.

You say to me that the U.S. policies don't promote freedom I tell you to go to the Middle East and find out what those policies are really like. Do you think you could run a website like this out of Iran or Egypt. Do you think you could dress like you do here over there? You say our policies don't promote freedom I tell you to wake up and smell the coffee. All our policies do is promote freedom. If you don't like this President and what he is doing you only have to wait a few years and he will be gone. Or just get your ass out there and vote and make a change. Every vote counts and you can make a difference.

Fantastic little ditty up there...I don't agree with alot of things in this country but I appreciate the fact that we are FREE... and I can't stand people that complain but don't vote. I used to think communism would be Ideal but truth is nothing is ideal. Communism is definatley not! It took more learning to realize that its more like dictatorship or it would be Anarchy.. Anyway thanks for the greatings.. biggrin
