Protesting Ringling Bros because animals are not your entertainment and animal abuse is never okay

I hate circuses, always have done. They are a form of entertainment that has long outstayed it's welcome. You must understand that I think the very specialist acts like the high wire, trapeze, and all the other really skilled acts still inspire awe and admiration, and so they should. But showing off animals in ways that are alien to those animals, have no place today. 200 years ago, when exotic animals were a rarity outside their native land, yes, I can understand that. But today, when one can see almost any animal with the click of a mouse, or on TV, with David Attenborough to guide you, Circuses are redundant. I didn't like the way the animals were treated demeaningly when I was a kid, and now I'm in my fifties, I'm sure I like the idea of them even less. So well done for your protest.
