One thing that us guys tend to do is keep our options open. Even if it means throwing away something (or someone) great. The fact that he's still living with his parents speaks to his fear of facing life and its tough decisions. My only advice is to hold him to it. Leave. If he comes crawling back, you'll have a decision to make. If he doesn't, well...then he was telling you the truth.

I don't think the best way to move on is to find someone new. I think a mini vacation may be in order. Maybe a bitchfest with the girls and a mountain of ice cream. Burning pictures and keep-sakes can be theraputic too. (I like to keep something) After that, pour yourself into work/art/hobbies.

That sounds exactly like what my ex (of 2 yrs) just did to me 2 weeks ago.i'm doing all the things that i put on the backburner. do the things you enjoy and bring you happiness. writing helps alot too. gets all of your thoughts to one place, and allows you to see how you really feel about the whole situation. who knows you might just be better off with out him.
