my last Voltaire comment (in fact probably my last comment on SG before I have to get back to work and let my account go). somehow appropriate that the topic is food -food is really one of the things that separates us from the other animals (I haven't heard of many prairie dog colonies coming up with great pizza recipes). I can't imagine life without all the wonderful dishes from around the world. I'd go crazy. Those times when I've been so broke that I've had to eat pasta and instant soup for weeks on end have made me appreciate not only good food (made at home) but also the whole dining out experience. Nothing like good guilty indulgence now and then.

1. hmmm... right now I'd go with ribs. I don't know why. I haven't had good ribs in literally a year or so. I mean ribs served with a stack of white bread on one side and a stack of napkins on the other.
2. nope. anything beyond pasta is really pushing my skill level.
3. coffee. cereal. jelly belly jelly beans. cheese rotini. water. I think that's it.

The music isnt why I go though, its a great crowd, punks, glam rockers, gay kids, goths, hot punky girls, hot punky girls, oh and also did I mention hot punky girls ?
the crowd is basically evenly mixed gay/straight, the night is ALWAYS fun, the venues are typically large and cool to be inside of, and it goes until the wee hours of the morning.

I guess its been a long last 5 or so days of partying, holiday fun and that sort of thing. there's a certain number of my friends who are into the shit occasionally and although i've done my share of partaking once in a great moon, i find it disgusting for the most part how once people start doing it then they're sort of a slave to whomever is providing it to them....it just sort of disgusts me.....watching people do themselves in like that.

Quick rundown of N'awlins clubs- Big Daddies has it's good points- the girls there have a more interesting look, and the club is more laid back that some others, and they have fun stuff to play with on the stages. However it's a little scuzzier than the big clubs (ie more junkies doing special favors in the back rooms) and draws a younger, drunker crowd. I'd suggest Temptations (small but classy and it's in a big cool old house with haunted rooms and secret passages) or Hustler (it's cheesy with a ridiculous house fee, but the name means it's allways full). Avoid the Gold Club ( they make you cover tattoos) and Ricks (tatoo girls get shitty shifts). Avoid Mardi Gras. Best money- New Year's, Sugarbowl, Jazzfest,. Super best money- Superbowl when it's there.
