....in other news. esthero is the bestest. i hear the kids talk of a new album. more of a traditional r&b vibe, but still full of her excellent vocals. very happy to find a fellow admirer.....but just because you like esthero doesn't mean i'm not pissed at you for ruining my bike's life.

The Guru was interesting. Sort of cheesy, but it had it's moments.

Head to toe in mosquito bites? Literally? When I was working as a bitch-girl (gopher, whatever) for a nature magazine, my boss made me drive down to the keys 'cause I was supposedly the only one with easy access to a kayak and a car (though that was, in fact, a lie -- everyone else was too damn lazy, and it was too hot). I got stuck in a freaking MANGROVE in said kayak, searching for a bald eagle's nest. My arms were BLACK with mosquitos, it was scary. I had to get out of the kayak and push my kayak through the mangrove passage. Lesson learned: Don't ever take a shortcut through mangroves.

The mission wasn't fruitless, by the way. There was a bald eagle's nest there, and I got photos, and my boss was happy and gave me a bonus. Yay.
