ah, it's not quite so bad as it seemed when i posted that one...gradually discovering all the ways to get around the rules and still get work done. all in all it's turning out to be not bad at all - good pay, and fairly easy work that's still semi-intellectually engaging.
you, lucky girl, have the advantage of being both stunning and creative in a way that the world is willing to let you be - not too many out there ready to pay a young poet just to sit at home and right - it's not a very entertaining spectacle ; )

okay, you definitely have to talk with Him about how important your shows are to you...he doesn't seem to understand how all-encompassing it is for you, and if he can't understand your passion, how's he going to understand and accept you? i used to cut too; i know exactly how relieving it can be to externalize all the chaos welling up inside, but there are better ways to do it. i'm not trying to moralize at you, i just think that the next time you feel the urge to sink a blade in, think about telling Him about what's driving you to that point...you might find it just as effective.
