I have to say it is a good thing that you are one of the those people that helps other people, but you are right - you have to let them figure out things for themselves. It seems kind of cold, but it is true. One thing you will notice as you get older is that those people that get themselves into shit and complain about their life are always getting into shit - Five years from now or even ten years from now. Change has to come from within and only a few do it. Surround yourself with people you admire, respect and especially those that support and believe in you. It is amazing what a difference in life it makes to have really good friends like that.

helping people can be very difficult to do, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it....hell, it'd be a good way to make new friends.

And while I lack a vagina, I'd certainly be friends with you. You seem to be a unique and weird person, and I firmly believe that those are the best kind.
