i am beginning to hate winter.

three colds. three months.

edit: anyone want to enumerate for me the pros and cons of drinking away a cold?

i am seriously tempted to get the scotch.

When I worked in our warehouse area, the burly teamster guys recommended southern comfort at bedtime. I never tried it though.

It's not winter, it's your immune system. Are you eating right? Are you polluting your lungs with smoke? Are you getting enough rest? I recommend vitamin C. Lots. 3000-4000mg a day when you first feel a cold coming and throughout while it's there. Some people swear by Zicam. And if you regularly fight the sniffles, possibly getting tested for allergies, which lower your immune system. Drink lots of fluids, too (the non-alcoholic variety).

scotch is never a bad thing...

Oh well, I'm sure you had fun nevertheless. I went ot SGB here in NYC on Thursday and it was fun but not as much fun as watching Antonioni when you are drunk, and then washing it down with a TIVO-ed Curb Your Enthusiasm episode and more alcohol and some pot and then falling asleep re-reading a few pages from my college modern history textbook. Okay, there's probably some porn in there somewhere, but I skipped past that!

I can't outdo Rothko.

EDIT: I meant grouchy and cynical in the best possible sense. In the, you're so grouchy you make my pants catch fire baby sort of way. And cynicism is sexy. No, really. kiss

Art girls are sexy, and that means you! Have you ever checked out the Carlton Arms hotel? Every room is painted by a different artist. I stay there every time I go to NYC. I'd like to paint one of the rooms, provided I could get enough time off my real job to do it. -sigh- Anyways, keep up the good work!

so guess who's gonna be all up in that Noo Yawk bidness this friday? oh, that would be i. Which looks syntactically awful, but is in fact correct.

Anyone else going to the SGB on 2/6? I'll be the one looking awkward and tall in the corner, downing gin and tonics like the old guy from Caddyshack. Not Rodney. I wish.

I sent a few...

There are SGNY events planned for both before and after the Friday SB Burlesque show.

You should let freyja know you might be in NY, so she can let you into the SGNY group and you can get all the details.

If that doesn't work, email me and I can let you know the when and where.

Alas, I don't think I can make any of the Friday night festivities. I might have been able to work something out for Thursday, but barring some miracle I'm pretty much screwed for anything Friday.

If you know 100% for sure that you'll be in NY then, let me know and I'll see what I can work out.

*sigh*

i think it's time for a written-writing entry, as i haven't tacked the written writing in quite some time. This is of course opposed to the spoken writing, practiced mainly by Native Americans and Willie Nelson.

i find myself more and more tackling the problem of how to get my special friend to dance. He thinks that he has submerged my desire, whereas the truth...

really I think dancing is not anaethma for men. dancing is great when done right. kids these days even have japanese electronic dancing simulator machines in game arcades to teach them rhythm and moves at an early age... the future of dancing is bright biggrin

holy red pants bat-man.

...and I was coming here for the photos you take. can you please be BOTH a subject of gorgeous photos (with good lighting of course) and a manifestation of your prose. please.

you are insanely rad biggrin

p.s. great composition in that shot... and beautiful lighting.

p.p.s. I refuse to comment on my own competence in the area of dance, as I see that as irrelevant since I love it and I don't give a shit, but I will say that the statement that it is an anathema to men's happiness is terribly unfair/inaccurate wink And I'm sorry for your special friend, as he's missing out on some of life's best.

And suddenly, you're gone. I suppose this is a moment in which we should bask in the wonders of dialup. Bask, I tell you! Bask faster!

Why I like these pictures: the obscured faces are frightening, but the oustretched hands, which come almost into focus suggest an intimacy that one doesn't normally associate with crazy people trying to break into your broken down car on a cold day.

I'm a normal guy. These are strange times...

I had assumed Adam was Quebecois, not only because of his name, but because (supreme dorkwad moment coming) in one of your pics from Quebec he's playing a guitar made in la ville de La Patrie. (I have one too! heehee!)

I once tried going by Golden God, but it had Studio 54 connotations that made it an uphill battle to strike fear into the hearts of my foes. I smote them nonetheless, but it was less satisfying than when I came to be known as the Molten Cod, scourge of the Maritimes.
