A verse I came across then (Sappho, not Homer) occurred to me last night.

καὶ Πληΐαδες, μέσαι δέ
νύκτες, πάρα δ' ἔρχετ' ὤρα,
ἔγω δὲ μόνα κατεύδω.
It is quite beautiful, but is painfully appropriate these days... (I used the translation as today's journal entry )
Hmm. The Greek displays properly in Mozilla and Opera, but IE seems to have trouble with it.
