That's a bitch if it IS the timing belt. On some motors that will wreck the whole engine, and on others it just stops running but doesn't hurt anything. Hopefully yours is just the belt and not the valves hitting the pistons.

A good idea if you are going to keep the car is to go ahead and do the water pump at the same time as the timing belt. it costs more now, but water pumps go bad generally shortly after timing belts anyway and you have to take the timing belt off to get to it, so you save on labor in the long run.

I'm looking at a picture of you and Stacie that she sent me in my birthday card. Stacie is such a sweetie.

i got lucky with my mom. i hated her as a mom when i was a wee lass. she was too much of a friend and all i wanted was a mom. now that im older i understand her much better. she always understood me.
