I've been fighting with a database these last few days. While it seemed to be winning the battle, new evidence has appeared that points all signs to: what I'm trying to do is not possible. HA, db, so you're not too clever for me - you're just INCAPABLE. HAHA

Rosalyn: 0 Database: 0

At this point, I'm happy with that. tongue

Hmm, weird constraints are better implemented as a trigger, I think Oracle lets you make Java triggers. Failing that, wrap the operation in a stored procedure which can then use a transaction and rollback if the constraint cannot be met.

And I'm going Bed -> Desk -> iBook since I already have a thinkpad x20, it's just that it's 3 years old now...

One day some leftover pasta ran off with some leftover meatballs and joined the circus. I later learned the star attraction (a lion) ate them both, but then was sick for a week.

I haven't written in a while. I'll try harder.

MS SQL Server does the job for me. Don't use triggers much, but rely extensively on stored procs.

Take care love

Whoa, changes! biggrin
I declined a few people as friends. Why? Cause we've never spoken. So let's get some comments going first! smile

A great weekend. Friday was New Electronic. Local-ish DJs and artists playing groovin' music. + neat digital art. The venue felt like someone's cozy basement. Except with a bar. tongue It was fun++.
I met a girl who asked me if I'd be interested in...

Glad I got through the friend test then like! wink

Basement clubs are cool - we have a couple like that over here in Leeds. Agree with you that it sort of feels like you're at a big party rather than out clubbing which is nice.

Man, if you crashed our get togethers, I think I'd die!! blush

Working on one thing, with no breaks, until I reach insanity has being happening at an alarming rate lately.

Now normally, it's my own damn fault for leaving the entire project until the last minute. But these last few weeks it's just that there's *so much*. surreal surreal

I got to take a little break today though. And what did I do? Oooo, I went to Funf...

I definitely know what you mean about having a ton of stuff to do lately. It never stops!!! At least it's almost Thanksgiving here so I get a little break.

Yay for you getting stuff tongue I do that sometimes but it's always on ebay tongue

Rest is probably the biggest productivity enhancer, especially for programming. After resting, problems that looked unsolvable become walk in the parks. Long and tedious process suddenly have quick and elegant solutions, etc.

It's gotten to the point that I refuse work if it will overlap with too much rest time since my productivity and more importantly the quality of my output decreases.

I'm sure you will have similar gain when you start working again monday. Until then, the most responsible thing to do is to not give a care and party hard ;-).

How's that for a good rationalization?

Oooo Venetian Snares was awesome!! Short set though. frown

I had planned to do so much homework in the care there and back. I lugged all kinds of books. Guess how much I did, guess!

Har har, amusing (at least to me) room mate story.

Had friends over last friday. We were loud no doubt, but hell, it can't have been that bad, my...

Toronto this weekend has been finalized. It's still a 10 hour trip for barely any time there, but now it's a free trip.
So Venetian Snares, here I come! biggrin

I mentioned before that I started going to aerobics. But meh. It was alright, but... then I discovered the classes that lean towards kicks, punches, strength... much more what I want. Imma kick some ass!! Already...

Woo! All signs point towards me going to TO this weekend to see Venetian Snares! biggrin

It seems like such a waste... I'll be spending 10 hours in a car for less than 24 hours in Toronto... and much of that will be riding the bus, too, since I'm actually staying just outside the city.

But, it should be an awesome show, so whatever. smile

Too bad...

Dear red cords,
Why did you have to go and stretch? And not have belt loops? You're my favourite and I'll continue to wear you, but pulling up my freakin' pants every five seconds is no fun and hardly socially acceptable. wink

pihka:
1 cup of water
25 g yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar/honey
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup natural yoghurt
about 3 cups wheat flour

Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water. Add salt, sugar, oil and yoghurt. Mix in the flour gradually so that the dough becomes firm and round. Cover with a cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place.

Roll 8-10 buns of the dough and flatten them into flat ovale breads. Let rise again. Brush with melted butter/margarine and bake in an oven in 225C for about 10 minutes.

I never have to do another exam as long as I live! Bwahahaha! Well, not unless I want to better myself in some way. Which is probably actually a good option.

Still, my finals are fresh enough in my mind to make me feel deep sympathy for your impending examdom. Good luck and all.
chimpsky:
If those fennel seeds work anything like flax seeds, the limit ain't all you'll be passing. biggrin Hope you did well on your exams! I have two exams that were take-home, and I should really be looking over before handing in tomorrow.. Nothing like a little procrastination..

Homework hell + midterms soon + linear algebra being evil = craaaazy Rosalyn. surreal

But, on the bright side, my set went up this weekend! biggrin And, I find out about those co-op jobs tomorrow, I think. So far, I know one of them didn't rank me. I'm kinda insulted, actually. It's a shitty job.. they should be begging me to take it. wink The other, I want...

Good luck on the job though, out of your league? I don't think so. Anyone says otherwise, kick their asses.

Figuratively, not literally.

Well, maybe literally.

So, since we are the day after the hypothetical tommorow in your journal entry, did you get the co-op job? If it's the one i think (embedded stuff) it would rock!
