An update!

Been busy lately, holidays and such... strange how that keeps me busier than school. wink (priorities, priorities...)

Christmas was full of family, good food and all that. And presents! I asked for some of the silly things I don't need (+ can't afford) but wouldn't mind having.. Perfume (Cool Water by Davidoff - my favourite!), a straighening iron for my curls... that, and some...

Tachos?

I didn't ring the new year in surrounded by anyone. Just me and one wonderful girl. No SGNY party, but I think what I had was better. (shhh, don't tell anyone I said that. tongue)

Happy new thing, Rosalyn.

thats good that you had somw good holidays. i worked on all of them, which kind of sucked, but the at least the holiday pay was nice. new computers are always good. the best thing i got came from my sister, she got me a nice framed print of "sleep" by salvador dali. which is my favorite painting by him.
now i want some of those nachos...

Saw LOTR 2... excellent! Too bad I hadn't seen the first one since the theatres... I was a little lost. Still great though, and the effects were beautiful.

Busy x-mas - family events the 24th, 25th AND 26th. I don't eat meat, so I'm destined to eat mashed potatoes for those 3 days, haha.. ah well, I *do* like potatoes. =)

Work, family, friends +...

Exams are OVER! What a relief. Not too confident about how I did though... the one result I've gotten so far is a 50. Eep. I remember a time when that would have bothered me... now, though, I'm just happy it's over, haha. Bad sign...

Now I've got two weeks to relax... or more likely, two weeks to be incredibly busy filling my time with...

One (of the many) tragic things about Ottawa is the lack of venues. Tonight I saw a show at this little hick bar... but I don't blame them for the location, since there really is nowhere else for small bands to play. Sad...

Yah, I know what you mean. I live in Northern Cali and when I was in high school the only venue that I cold go to was about 45 minutes away and I had to get rides with friends and what not. But thanks to that venue, I love live music more than anything else. Nothing like seeing a band up close ane personal.

My interest in history has been revived lately... I'm currently reading "A Short History of the World" by H. G. Wells. I've read about plenty of different time periods, but this book is doing an excellent job of tying everything together for me. Presenting history as an overview like this really demonstrates how history repeats itself... and highlights the major changes and turning points. Perhaps the most impressive is Christianity. Never been a fan of christianity, but one does have to admit it's profound impact on mankind... uniting people, teaching equality and human rights.. (at least it did originally whatever )

mk, night night.

... something's up with the Rice Krispies. They're everywhere, even after intense vacuuming. The box just keeps explodifying. It doesn't happen with other cereal, so it can't just be me.

I suspect elves. surreal

Oh gawd, squash. How did it take me 20 years to discover this delicious vegetable? Ahh... I'm eating butternut squash, sweet potato and steamed veggies.. this is the part of winter that I love.

Yes, I get overly excited about food. =)

So, how was your exam? I know what you mean about pre-test insomnia.. Only for me it was one or two images from 'The Ring' that popped into my head and kept me up for a while.. yeesh..

while (squid!=squash) alliterate(food);

(OK, I know that makes less sense than it did when I first thought of it.)

It still freaking smells like skunk in here! Luckily the smell doesn't seem to follow me out... unless everyone's just being nice. tongue

What's strange is, I always got along with my parents during my teenage years. But now... now when I see friends my age finally reconcilling and getting along with their folks, I have problems. Long, long story, as they all are... but...

hehe, you had a dream about me? that's pretty odd, cool but odd. my journal must make for very boring dreaming.

i'm feeling a bit better, it's odd. i think i'm just getting every scottish disease we don't have in the us.

oh, i finally finished the song i was working on for the christmas cd, i put it up on the boards at http://suicidegirls.com/boards/Music/7034/ :-)

That's how I feel even though I'm no longer at my dad's. I moved in with my mom in 98 and had been with her up till now. I always worried about what he did to my sisters -- older and younger. He's calmed down a little but he has a temper that scares the shit out of me. It's caused a lot of mental problems for me unfortunately.

You'll be okay and so will she.

My dog got sprayed by a skunk today.
What a horrible, repulsive smell.
I feel sorry for him - even after a bath in special shampoo, he still smells. No one will pet him for weeks, and he'll get depressed, Then again, the moron has been sprayed 4 times this year and never learns...
I think the skunks target us on purpose, just for a...

Strange day today.

It *seemed* I should be having a bad day - bad things kept happening... I sorta tripped and fell UP the stairs if you can imagine that... it was fast and I recovered quickly but still. wink Then I had a little incident with the white out in class, somehow managed to get some on my EYELID, haha. I think it's still there...

Whoa, my new set's up!

I started reading 'Dead Girls' , a collection of short stories by Nancy Lee last night. I don't know what made me pick it out, but something about the description of the stories caught my attention. Anyway, so far it's deffinatly a book version of a chick flick... I don't get it - devoid of anything BUT emotion/love/heartbreak.. is anyone's...
