Another Co-op interview today.

I go to the designated interview room.. wait... wait.. nothin'. The coordinator comes in - the interviewer's sick, so suddenly this is a phone interview. Crap. I hate the phone. But ah well...

OH GAWD I WANT THAT JOB!

It's embedded systems* design, implementation and (mainly) testing. I know nothing about embedded systems - but hey, they knew that. I hope...

I think I'm allergic to aspartame.
I hate the stuff - I don't like to put anything unnatural like that into my body (m'temple, you know).
But, every so often I give into my weeknesses of minty gum or that delicious clear pop that only comes in sugar-free.... Free and Clear, or something. And I've finally started linking it to stomach aches. Yes, even gum...

well i had a nice fall camping trip. it was pretty relaxing and i was fairly close to the canadian border actually. i learned my brother is pretty snappy and aggressive though, he needs to relax a bit. I studied comp sci for like 2 semesters i guess. it was a bad situation though. basically high school was pretty easy for me, and i was ready to party instead of go to school so i managed to not get kicked out of college my freshman year, but passing comp sci 1 and calc 1 barely and heading on to the next one just wasn't going to happen. somehow i made a drunken stoner decision to pursue a major that wasn't suited for me and my parents were against so i stuck it out to prove them wrong and now i have a job i hate (only for like 2 more months), and yeah perhaps we could email each other....
twwly:
howd your interview go??

Looking for a co-op job. I applied to a bunch I could do, and one that I am completely unqualified for. What do I know about network security? My resume says: Nothin'! I didn't even bother to fill in the application, I just sent my resume.

And yet, they're the only company who wants an interview so far. surreal Hey, if they want to hire me...

The tofu-burger recipe sounds like fun! Will it work with cooking spray? And what does it mean if my tofu is turning purple? smile (I think I kept the opened package in the fridge for too long. Too late now, I just finished a heaping bowl-ful. surreal ) Oh, hey, I have a great recipe for squash and zucchini soup.. If I could only find it.

re: my girlfriend: I think it's just the first week that the weight gain will be so substantial. Most of it seems to be fluid -- cells rehydrating and whatnot. It should be a little smoother from here.

Good luck with the co-op hunting! I once worked in a genetics lab without even taking a course in genetics. I'm sure you'll be fine at network security. smile

Normally, I pack these elaborate lunches for school... curries, roasted spicy squash, things like that. Which is good and all.. but...

Yesterday I got lazy and packed my spiderman lunch box with an apple and a peanut butter sandwhich, Holy crap! Who knew I'd gotten it right in grade school! yum yum.

I hear rumours of Kiscica and/or Tegan coming to Ottawa to visit Twwly...

You know, the tomato sauce and hummus kind of turns into a ros sauce, except it's non-dairy and probably a wee bit healthier. Try it and let me know how it comes out!

Thanks for the kind wishes. She seems to be doing ok for now, except for almost blowing up the ward kitchen, but that's another story. smile
flux:
thanks, darlin'!

The new room mate:

Pros:
-Pays his rent.
-So far, seems clean and tidy.
-Has not murdered me.

Cons:
-Talks non stop even when getting no response or acknowledgment for twenty minutes.
-When I *am* listening, he topic hops so much that keeping up is next to impossible.
-Watches an obscene amount of TV.
-Observes me carefully (so it seems...), later states opinions and preferences...

why not give him the boot. I'm looking for a change come the end of December. You may still get annoying calls looking for Dave, but they will only be sales calls I assure you. and I do try to eat healthy, but frequent fast food places when I am on the run. and I'm not too old or too creepy I don't think. haha
suggs:
nice way of looking at things, i'll stay away from my room mates mouldy cheese in the future... biggrin

mmmm, destiny cheese, i like it.

laters peaches.

A friend of mine needed poses to draw for an art project, so we had fun last night shooting pictures of hanging off things and other such unusual poses. It was fun ++ biggrin

But, it meant I was NOT doing the homework I had intended to get to tonight. Therefore, my 70 textbook pages about the history of programming languages extended well into the night,...

mmm...spicy...course, the more zany things you do while cooking the greater the likelyhood of a disastourous event happenning. One time I managed to get a cucumber to explode and have one end spin across the room and hit my friend in the head...it was really funny smile ...course, the food didn't work out frown

What are the faults with Ottawa? I didn't find any when I lived there and I'm trying really hard to move back.
26oo:
Are most of your friends University friends? I get the same problem around here because I'm usually the only one left. Of course this time around it was different cause my best friend stuck around and we spent two weeks hacking and setting off fireworks...oooooooh...fireworks...can't get enough.
Do you attend Ottawa or Carleton?

Arg, it's always such a challenge: Do I buy the text book or not? Profs certainly like to tell students they NEED the book, even when they'll probably never need to even open it. Fuckers. I've heard they have deals with the book store.. I don't doubt it.

Today was back to school. I missed you, University. kiss Last year was the first year that grade...

Yeah i studied hotel restaurant and tourism management, not quite sure why anymore, I think it was just necessary for me to go to school, and i didn't want to keep switching majors and being in school forever, so i stuck it out.

After almost a year in the real world, I'm ready to go back to school or something. Where abouts in Canada do you live? Im not too far away from Canada, I live in Minnesota, sounds pretty similar. I might apply for a ski bum job out in B.C. too, that sounds like it could be lots of fun.
ihatework:
yeah,I checked out that land called canada seeing as how i had no idea where Ottawa? was. you are far away from B.C. hmmm well i need to find something more fun and exciting to do after I quit my job, i guess that constitutes finding myself, and drinking lots and snowboarding can't be too far off the journey, haha. I'm planning on moving back to my parents, which is like a 16 some hour drive according to the internet to Ottowa?. fun times. maybe i'll plan a roadtrip through Canada before i settle into a routine again.

One of those nights that's filled with nightmares.... like rape, getting robbed... also one about my family finding out about SG... my real family would probably be a little upset... my dream family took it decidedly worse. wink

I'm not surprised, really. I've been feeling pretty shitty these past few days, so my subconscious must be flipping out too.
(Psst subconscious - you're only making it...

I've been spending way too much time reading about new foods and how to cook them and then spending tons of time cooking everything from scratch.

I feel like a fucking home maker.

But, this is a very convenient distraction from my co-op report for school. I bitch at myself for partying too much, spending too much time online (like here wink ), etc.. but I...

Have you seen the new Yves Veggie Meal-in-a-bowl entrees? Yum! Santa Fe Veggie Beef and Rice, and Thai Lemongrass Chick'n.

Sorry to sound like an advertisement, but they're really good! I've given up cooking since I found these.

Ah, it's so nice to do nothing. This is the first break I've taken from work/school in years. Two weeks of this... it's great now, but give me a few days and I'll be complaining about how bored I am.. because the grass is always greener... wink

I spent today hanging out with Twwly and Fivetwo. So much fun! And Twwly is so photogenic... so...
