Toronto this weekend has been finalized. It's still a 10 hour trip for barely any time there, but now it's a free trip.
So Venetian Snares, here I come! biggrin

I mentioned before that I started going to aerobics. But meh. It was alright, but... then I discovered the classes that lean towards kicks, punches, strength... much more what I want. Imma kick some ass!! Already...

Congratualtions on the #1 spot on that interview smile

I will most definitely be going to Prom this summer! I already excited tongue

Woo! All signs point towards me going to TO this weekend to see Venetian Snares! biggrin

It seems like such a waste... I'll be spending 10 hours in a car for less than 24 hours in Toronto... and much of that will be riding the bus, too, since I'm actually staying just outside the city.

But, it should be an awesome show, so whatever. smile

Too bad...

nothing wrong with a cushy govt. job... at least you'll have job security and would it'll look great on your resume' when you're ready to make a million in a few years. smile

(Oh wait, forgot you were Canadian - correction: when you're ready to make two million in a few years)
wink
supernovice:
you didn't even comment on how clever my currency exchange joke was... geeesh! whatever

Dear red cords,
Why did you have to go and stretch? And not have belt loops? You're my favourite and I'll continue to wear you, but pulling up my freakin' pants every five seconds is no fun and hardly socially acceptable. wink

I agree with the suggestion of big rainbow suspenders; you can be Mork from Ork!

I went to my very first arobics class today. biggrin Every winter I plan to go.. seeing as how other forms of exercise (like rollar blading) aren't possible... but I never get around to it. whatever

Rosalyn: 1, Insomnia... well.. the important thing is that I got to 1!

And, in addition to the fact that I might get some SLEEP tonight, it feels sooo good to...

pihka:
1 cup of water
25 g yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar/honey
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup natural yoghurt
about 3 cups wheat flour

Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water. Add salt, sugar, oil and yoghurt. Mix in the flour gradually so that the dough becomes firm and round. Cover with a cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place.

Roll 8-10 buns of the dough and flatten them into flat ovale breads. Let rise again. Brush with melted butter/margarine and bake in an oven in 225C for about 10 minutes.

-sorry about the Celsius there- I have no idea what its in Fahrenheit! confused

SooOOo.. I didn't get that embedded systems job I wanted. But it's neat I was considered. Ah well, they don't know what they're missing! tongue

So, it's back to applications and interviews for me. whatever

Two exams today. Yes, on a Saturday. Mope.

Fennel seeds taste good. So I put some in a little jar beside my computer. Munch, munch, munch.... and as it turns out, there...

I never have to do another exam as long as I live! Bwahahaha! Well, not unless I want to better myself in some way. Which is probably actually a good option.

Still, my finals are fresh enough in my mind to make me feel deep sympathy for your impending examdom. Good luck and all.
chimpsky:
If those fennel seeds work anything like flax seeds, the limit ain't all you'll be passing. biggrin Hope you did well on your exams! I have two exams that were take-home, and I should really be looking over before handing in tomorrow.. Nothing like a little procrastination..

Homework hell + midterms soon + linear algebra being evil = craaaazy Rosalyn. surreal

But, on the bright side, my set went up this weekend! biggrin And, I find out about those co-op jobs tomorrow, I think. So far, I know one of them didn't rank me. I'm kinda insulted, actually. It's a shitty job.. they should be begging me to take it. wink The other, I want...

I tried to make some tofurkey, but it didn't turn out well.

;(

Good luck on the job though, out of your league? I don't think so. Anyone says otherwise, kick their asses.

Figuratively, not literally.

Well, maybe literally.
saruman:
So, since we are the day after the hypothetical tommorow in your journal entry, did you get the co-op job? If it's the one i think (embedded stuff) it would rock!

Another Co-op interview today.

I go to the designated interview room.. wait... wait.. nothin'. The coordinator comes in - the interviewer's sick, so suddenly this is a phone interview. Crap. I hate the phone. But ah well...

OH GAWD I WANT THAT JOB!

It's embedded systems* design, implementation and (mainly) testing. I know nothing about embedded systems - but hey, they knew that. I hope...

I think I'm allergic to aspartame.
I hate the stuff - I don't like to put anything unnatural like that into my body (m'temple, you know).
But, every so often I give into my weeknesses of minty gum or that delicious clear pop that only comes in sugar-free.... Free and Clear, or something. And I've finally started linking it to stomach aches. Yes, even gum...

well i had a nice fall camping trip. it was pretty relaxing and i was fairly close to the canadian border actually. i learned my brother is pretty snappy and aggressive though, he needs to relax a bit. I studied comp sci for like 2 semesters i guess. it was a bad situation though. basically high school was pretty easy for me, and i was ready to party instead of go to school so i managed to not get kicked out of college my freshman year, but passing comp sci 1 and calc 1 barely and heading on to the next one just wasn't going to happen. somehow i made a drunken stoner decision to pursue a major that wasn't suited for me and my parents were against so i stuck it out to prove them wrong and now i have a job i hate (only for like 2 more months), and yeah perhaps we could email each other....
twwly:
howd your interview go??

Looking for a co-op job. I applied to a bunch I could do, and one that I am completely unqualified for. What do I know about network security? My resume says: Nothin'! I didn't even bother to fill in the application, I just sent my resume.

And yet, they're the only company who wants an interview so far. surreal Hey, if they want to hire me...

The tofu-burger recipe sounds like fun! Will it work with cooking spray? And what does it mean if my tofu is turning purple? smile (I think I kept the opened package in the fridge for too long. Too late now, I just finished a heaping bowl-ful. surreal ) Oh, hey, I have a great recipe for squash and zucchini soup.. If I could only find it.

re: my girlfriend: I think it's just the first week that the weight gain will be so substantial. Most of it seems to be fluid -- cells rehydrating and whatnot. It should be a little smoother from here.

Good luck with the co-op hunting! I once worked in a genetics lab without even taking a course in genetics. I'm sure you'll be fine at network security. smile

Normally, I pack these elaborate lunches for school... curries, roasted spicy squash, things like that. Which is good and all.. but...

Yesterday I got lazy and packed my spiderman lunch box with an apple and a peanut butter sandwhich, Holy crap! Who knew I'd gotten it right in grade school! yum yum.

I hear rumours of Kiscica and/or Tegan coming to Ottawa to visit Twwly...

You know, the tomato sauce and hummus kind of turns into a ros sauce, except it's non-dairy and probably a wee bit healthier. Try it and let me know how it comes out!

Thanks for the kind wishes. She seems to be doing ok for now, except for almost blowing up the ward kitchen, but that's another story. smile

The new room mate:

Pros:
-Pays his rent.
-So far, seems clean and tidy.
-Has not murdered me.

Cons:
-Talks non stop even when getting no response or acknowledgment for twenty minutes.
-When I *am* listening, he topic hops so much that keeping up is next to impossible.
-Watches an obscene amount of TV.
-Observes me carefully (so it seems...), later states opinions and preferences...

why not give him the boot. I'm looking for a change come the end of December. You may still get annoying calls looking for Dave, but they will only be sales calls I assure you. and I do try to eat healthy, but frequent fast food places when I am on the run. and I'm not too old or too creepy I don't think. haha
suggs:
nice way of looking at things, i'll stay away from my room mates mouldy cheese in the future... biggrin

mmmm, destiny cheese, i like it.
