It took three years to sift through the garbage that is food offered at u of o... but finally I've found something I consider food: organic granola bars! Not a sulphite or a modified milk ingredient in sight.

It amazes me, that after three years of comp sci, to see my some of my classmates trying to use procedural programming in Java. Which doesn't work...

hi! smile

raw food veg is a strange road. i found the hardest part to be the cultural isolation, even from a pretty rarified fringe community. granted, it was 1990 in a small town and "vegetarian" was freakish, let alone vegan, let alone raw food...

there is a great place in France you should check out some time. It is called "Chateau de Montrame" and they practice "instinctotherapie" - instinctive eating. all food must be raw, no grains or dairy, but meat and eggs are on. As raw foodists, we were in and ate well from the "crusine." but as vegans, we were outside yet again.

wild place, tho... 12th century castle about an hour's drive from paris with some incredible people doing off-the-chart things. stories, stories. you know, i don't even know if they still exist...

Crazy raw food lady!

I wish I was there to drink Tequila with you! Nobody drinks with me here. frown

What a great weekend!

I got to Toronto after a hellishly dull 5 hour bus trip. I dropped my things at Zarina's place and then we and Kiscica, photogrrl, Jason_GPK, and ticktockticktock went for some delicious vegan food and the some of us for drinks. That was neat... small gatherings are so much better than big groups in a lot of ways smile

Saturday I wandered...

So sick. Food keeps seeming like a good idea, but it sure doesn't taste so great coming back up. blackeyed

Err.. sorry tongue

Other than the DOOM which is my stomach, things going pretty good. I started my classes, which are all really neat. Especially operating systems... has one of those profs who really knows his stuff, which is, surprisingly, pretty rare.
It's a condensced semester though,...

I bought a durian fruit! eeek
For those of you who don't know it, it's a huge, spiky, extremely stinky fruit, haha. It's bigger than my head. It's frozen so I don't know about the stench. I'm going to let it thaw tonight, so I guess I"ll know tomorrow. In the garage, to be safe. tongue

So why would one want a fruit that apparently smells like...

I saw Kill Bill 2 last night.

It was great! biggrin The first and second are completely different, so difficult to compare... but I think I prefered the first. It was deffinitly more *fun* to watch, anyway.

While watching it, I ate some dehydrated and spiced sweet potatoes. Mmm... soo... good. Problem is, dehydrated means super concentrated, so before I knew it I had consumed an...

any star wars
any LOTR
any harry potter

Whoa, I never update.

I suspect it's cause I work all day. Tempting as it, I really shouldn't risk accessing SG at work.. wink And in the evening, I'm usually rushing to do stuff..

BUT, I go back to school in a week and a half, and if history repeats itself, I'll be around here instead of doing my homework, haha. So hellllooooo SG! biggrin

if only the government allowed me to access sg from my co-op, i'd be on here 24/7. unfortunately for me, they've firewalled it.

Hey, cheers for the comment. I was just really angry 'cos all the work for the agency I co-run with a mate had got dumped onto me because his phone has been cut off and therefore, through no fault of his, I was having to do everything myself. He's been re-connected now which has cut down my workload considerably. Am now in a much more cheerful mood (as my journal today shows) but thanks for the concern pet. smile

Whoa. I'm bored.

This is so strange to me... normally I'm running around trying to get everything done, barely time to pee... and yet somehow I've managed to have accomplished all important tasks for tonight. Funny how you can forget how to have free time. surreal

Another failed attempt at acquiring a digital camera yesterday. After waiting for a month for a call saying my camera was in at Futureshop, I gave up and called them.... what, they say? We have no camera on order for you. You have a layaway receipt? Well that's odd.

Damn right. mad

So I decided to just go in in person and look for another model...

I had my first hangover in a long, long time on Sunday.

See, normally I tend to drink quite a bit, but I eat a lot before I sleep.. especially grains and cereals. And water. And I'm fine! But Saturday, the combination of more booze than usual (damn dark bottle, we didn't even realize how much we drank till the morning. whatever ) and falling asleep...

My immune system of steel, she has failed me. are you viewing the site with IE? if so, try this:

Tools > Internet Options... > Connections > LAN Settings... > uncheck "Automatically detect settings"

this fix worked for me and a few others in Victoria. maybe it'll solve your connection problem.
