Work has it's regulars, and there's one guy who, every time I see him, tells me I look *just* like "That girl, you know, the one from Napanee.. Avril Lavigne!"
I just figured he was some old crazy guy, who hadn't a clue what he was talking about.
Then today, at the LCBO, the clerk says "hey.. you know who you look like? Avril Lavigne"....

I bought stamps today. They're stickers now?! For some reason, it *never* occurred to me that there could be any other method of adhering a stamp to an envelope than that nasty tasting glue. Good. Licking stamps takes forever, what with such a large surface area of my tongue being blocked by metal and all. (piercings, I'm not a cyborg, I swear)

Hey - I needed that hour!
Ooo.. so it seems there are (pretty deffinite!) plans for the SGCanada Prom in TO. I'm beyond excited! Half of me can't wait to meet you all, and the other half is terrified.
I had an awesome weekend. I went to a dinner party - I didn't have time to make anything yummy for the theme (asian), so I...

Oh my gods.
It works.
My program works.
I've been banging my head on the keyboard for days over this. (Almost literally)
Ok, so I've still got tons to do. But I found the bug, and right now I rule the world.
Oh, shut up - it's near the end of the semester, this *is* my life right now.
.... YIPEE!!

WEEE AGAIN! Another problem, solved. Fucking TYPO. As if I've been debugging forever for a TYPO.
Anyway, tonight I'll make a non-project related post.
Until then, rejoice in my progress with me, slow as it is...

WOOOO I got the co-op job! No more job hunting for this kitty. Plus it looks neat - web development stuff. Not that I have much experience in that, and I don't know anything about the languages they want.. (SQL, Cold Fusion...) Yet, they think I'm perfect for the position, so I guess I impressed (fooled) them into thinking I'm some kind of super learning...

Hi Rozz. Long time I no say hi, so I say hi now. I have never rocked bok choy...I don't think so anyway. I should. I went to a Morrocan restaurant for the first time last week. They had a buffet with chicken and stuff and carrots with spices. Somehow, I dunno how, but the carrots were amazing, way better than the chicken. I've never had amazing carrots before, but these were so.
I thought cold fusion didn't exist. Oh, it's software. Right. I'm sorry, I'm zoning out post-midnight. I would come up with some good software jokes if I was less in need of sleep.

I had a job interview yesterday - a co-op position doing web stuff. Turns out I'm not really qualified (Cold Fusion, SQL... I know no database stuff), but I really pushed my ability to learn, so maybe...
Anyway, I killed time before the interview loitering around a cafe. A woman and her 5ish year old son were there. She ordered him a double chocolate muffin...

Without being nasty to anyone, it always amazes us Brits how many obese people there are in North America. Perhaps if they all existed on a diet of cigarettes, heroin and vodka like us, the problem would be solved. Just a suggestion.

I had a blood test today. My doc was concerned about how much B12 I'm getting what with my rare consumption of animal products and all..
Anyway, the nurse commented how easy it was to find my veins. Haha, gee, thanks for the info, when will i use that trait.. when I'm SHOOTING UP?!
(and to avoid ANY possibly confusion I'll mention that NO, I...

I don't watch much TV... but I like to while I'm eating.
Today's scenario seems to happen multiple times every week:
I cook. My mum's watching tv. I sit down on the couch with my food. Good good. The commercial ends and I'm assaulted with
THE BIRTHING SHOW. OH GAWDS NO!
Unexpectingly witnessing a slimy, wiggly baby being expelled *while you're EATING* is horrible. I...

I don't have a whole lot of faith in humanity.. people just seem so selfish, so uncaring. As an example I see every day, my peers do what I call 'information hoarding'. If you ask them a (school related) question, they'll try their best to answer without really telling you anything. Like, they don't want to share any knowledge in an attempt to stay ahead...

but as to the bigger theme of whether people are creeps? Um, plenty are. When I saw Susan Sontag on Book TV, she said there was the 10% who are exceptionally good, the 10% who are exceptionally evil, and the 80% of us inbetween who have to watch which types we let sway us.

I finished Spaceland by Rudy Rucker awhile ago... excellent fun fiction for math geeks.
The plot follows a guy and his adventures in the fourth dimension... all the characters are super hip techie geeks (if that makes sense - yanno, dot commers and all that). Yes yes, the great characters was one of my favourite things about Spaceland... but by far the BEST is the...
