Yes it is in fact a sad poem! As Dwam said...
It's about a young soldier "sleeping" in a quiet valley :
The Sleeper in the Valley
It is a green hollow where a stream gurgles,
Crazily catching silver rags of itself on the grasses;
Where the sun shines from the proud mountain:
It is a little valley bubbling over with light.
A young soldier, open-mouthed, bare-headed,
With the nape of his neck bathed in cool blue cresses,
Sleeps; he is stretched out on the grass, under the sky,
Pale on his green bed where the light falls like rain.
His feet in the yellow flags, he lies sleeping. Smiling as
A sick child might smile, he is having a nap:
Cradle him warmly, Nature: he is cold.
No odour makes his nostrils quiver;
He sleeps in the sun, his hand on his breast
At peace. There are two red holes in his right side.
Arthur Rimbaud.
this is a poem that everyone in France learn at school at some point.
I am sooooo busy with homework. I have to do math homework almost every day. So much that by the time I finish, I have put all my other homework off until the last minute. Want to read my Spanish paper that I wrote in 3 hours?
Yep. Seeing you in real life is always more exciting anyway. You looked super cute last night. Hopefully next time I run into you I won't be huddled down into a pit of despair. And hopefully your schedule will allow us to go out and get drinks together soon!
I feel like going on a thought spree, even though I have tons of homework. For some reason my brain has decided to analyize everything today. The first topic I was thinking about this morning while I was counting money at work was music. I hope I can keep this thought straight. So, everyone likes music, right? I like music. I like many different types... Read More
I'm rather suspicious about the whole thing but how could I refuse? I have enough curiosity to kill every cat in existence (as much as it would break my heart).
Ha. I don't remember us having things in common. Oh... but I guess I didn't listen to The Knife or read Toothpaste For Dinner back when I was still on here. Actually I haven't read toothpaste this week at all and need to fix this immediately.
I think it's an entertainment thing. Us Americans like to base our selves on either work or hobbies (entertainment) I think. If it's not music it's a sport. I grew up skating and snowboarding so that's what I looked like but then again I listened to skate punk and such so I kinda looked like that I guess. No gutter punk look for me though. However I also listen to a lot of conscious hip hop but you wouldn't really be able to tell I suppose. Big fan of reggae too but I bathe and don't smoke pot. Oh and don't forget I'm really into house and drum and base but I don't think I look like that style either. Maybe I'm just too much of a mix to stick to one style, thus making it hard to pigeon hole me or something.
Now that the holidays are mostly over, I'll stop talking about garbage, waste and donating. For now....
I was happy to only receive two gifts this year, one of which is intangible. My mother bought me a membership to OMSI, for those of you not in Oregon, that is the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Very good gift, indeed. My sister bought me a... Read More
I know I already posted it, but I think it's something that people need to keep in mind during this time of year. Just out of curiosity, since there are so many people from around the world here, what is the garbage and recycling industry like where you live? I live in Portland,... Read More

An update on the dogs. Read previous entry for more information. I finally got a call from the Humane Society yesterday. He apologized for not getting back to me sooner, he is assigned to sixty cases right now. Sixty cases!? Really? That is so sad. I told him what I had seen and heard, he gave me his email address so I could send him... Read More
Did you guys make it out to dinner last night? I'm gonna have some freedom next weekend (other than being on call which only means I can't drink) so we should try to meet up for some kind of low-key meal or something.
Thank you! I'm sorry your cat has asthma. I didn't even know cats could get that. My cat gets insulin injections just like people, but I doubt your cat uses an inhaler.
