So I've got a whole week off and I'm really aching to just Thoreau it off into the woods and be by myself. Funds are pretty tight, though. Any suggestions for affordable cabins? I guess all I'd need would be a bed and a stove.
One time I tried one of those "eat this watery soup only" fast type things and by 6pm I called it quits because I was so hungry =) I really want to do one though, just one that isn't trendy and bogus.
Be sure to take along some water treatment stuff - something like Polar-Pure (which gives ~ 4ppm of iodine) or chlorine dioxide tablets - if you'll be drinking water that hasn't been boiled (as in making tea).
Don't know what to say about stoves ... depends a lot of your predilictions, experience, and disposable $$$ (and whether you can actually have an open fire where you'll be going).
I've bought a lot of gear over the years from Campmor - decent prices, and good selection. Take a gander ... it'll give you a feel for what is out there.
Um. I just saw your post in the DIY and I hope your at an office taking those pics cause that just makes the Stash that much more amazing. As if it needed anything else.
