I love cats, which is fine, because I'm very allergic to dogs - I like them, but their hair brings me out in a nasty rash. I have always had cats: the current incumbent is Dave. Dave Cooper, to be precise. My brother, to outward appearance, is a grim looking wiry bloke that looks a bit like Christian Bale in the movie 'The Machinist'. But actually, he is a big softie. He acquired Dave from a workmate. This guy had two Staffordshire Bull Terriers, a notoriously stupid dog breed. His girlfriend then got a kitten, that took to my brother the first time they met. My brother went to see his friend a few weeks later, and was horrified to see the kitten being used as a pull toy by the two dogs. My brother rescued the kitten, and told his mate's girlfriend in no uncertain terms that the dogs WOULD kill the kitten, possibly by tearing it in half, and, instead of that, he was adopting the kitten, taking it home, whether she liked it or not. That was seven years ago. Both of the dogs, due to their stupidity, managed to get themselves killed, but Dave thrives. He has picked up some 'doggy' traits, oddly enough. He never scratches people, but prefers to nip like a dog. He loves getting wet, sitting on the roof with water running off him in a downpour. He's not tremendously fond of being made a fuss of, but he will let you tickle his tummy for ages. Then, like a timer going, he nips you and runs away. He's a grumpy sod, but we love him.😉😘😘😘
