The Hurricane.

When I first saw the devastation of that hurricane I was moved almost to tears for all of those people affected. I realized they really lost EVERYTHING. Their chances of getting a single solitary possession back is almost none, their homes, neighborhoods and modes of income are all gone. It took some time to wrap my brain around it. In a way I...

Actual concern from a distance is better than feigned sympathy closer to home.

The girl was 7 1/2. Her throat was cut.

Take what you gather from the media and multiply it times 10.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Oh man, redoing ones house is a pain in the butt. Someday it will be done, I tell you someday.

So, click here and let me know How many cans of what it would take to kill you. It would take 260 cans of Coke to do me in.

Hopefully, about the time you get your house ready for a get-together; I'll have gotten my truck in a more suitable condition to make a trip to PHX.

An Open Letter to Employees

Dear Employees,

What makes you think I care about how you do your job? Why do you think I want to hear what a dick your boss is, how over worked you are, when you had your last break or what your internal policies and procedures are? More so, what makes you think I have even the slightest interest in...

How long do the tortillas take to cook using the machine? Is it faster/easier to do than just using a pan on the stove and a tortilla press? Does it only do corn or can you do flour with it? I looked it up on Amazon and it only mentions the corn maza.

I always like to hear how other people like their gadgets. I hate buying without some actual use reviews.

Argh, MY HOUSE IS A DISASTER!!

I got the monitor at the repair shop and they called to let me know they have to buy a manual for it so it will be a couple extra weeks before I get it back. My confidence is waning. I wonder how much this is all going to cost. I was told around $150 which is good. The...

It's not quite worth the cast to fix, mostly likely. It's just a 19" tube (although a pretty good one).
Honestly, the only reason I haven't tossed it yet is that I'm a little attached to it. I'm typing this on its replacement, but...Well, you know how first loves are. This was the first monitor I really loved.

Feel free to ridicule me for saying that, BTW.

Also, I gotta say, there's no WAY I woulda felt comfortable talking with my mom about that at that age. So he obviously really trusts you. Kudos.

Needing a manual? Either they're incompetent or your monitor is a rare model.
Hope it won't cost you much.

Hey, cool your kid gets to hang out with others like him. I was a loner at that age. I didn't quite fit in with the other kids.

My parents didn't talk to me about sex. I had sex education class at 6th grade. This was at a catholic school. I remember the books had a chemical smell and were pink with black lettering and the pages were plastic covered. It was very clinical.

I have been so incredibly busy! My home will be nicer when it is done but right now it sucks. There is dust and crap everywhere and I have spent enough time around chemicals to have caused permanent reproductive harm. I really HATE paint stripper, like seriously dispise it, and no matter how hard I try I end up getting it on myself and it...

Will we get pictures of the remodel?

A 56" monitor? I'd have to swear off porn until I found a more reasonably sized monitor. Shit I already have an inferiority complex the size of Nebraska. That would just humiliate me to the point of impotence. tongue
d_no:
It might be cheaper to buy a second hand monitor than get one repaired. The second hand computer shops over here are practically giving away the smaller CRT ones.

Paint stripper burns like holy water, ouch.
I used some 'Peel Away' for the first time recently, so I know.

Recipe time. Im redecorating the house so I have been super super busy, I took time to cook for everyone tonight though.

I came up with this one entirely on my own using a lot of stuff I had around and it turned out FABULOUS! It looks like a lot of work, but really it goes together pretty fast.

Southwest Chicken Salad.
Dressing:
1/2 cup...

Rebait and Switch

Has anyone else had trouble with rebates lately? I think I have noticed a deceitful new twist on the whole rebate situation. As it is, I hate rebates, or the process of getting a rebate. In this world of everything NOW, having to go through filling out a form, gathering receipts/UPC codes etc. and mailing the stupid thing and then waiting 6-8...

Hopefully your call will make a difference!

I would love to be able to be a Republican. Based on the ideals listed by the party I feel I can support what they claim to stand for. Primarily, the rights to free speech, reduction of government, the importance of individual freedom and personal responsibility.

Based on the summary here I understand why so many older Americans especially support this party. I can see...

Yeah I would like to see some kind of merger of the "fringe" parties. Then maybe they could come up with some real political clout and might actually be worth backing. Instead of backing them only making the republicans stronger by taking votes away from the dems.
nekoseven:
My parents are registered Republicans. I'm a registered Democrat. Lately, I don't look who's a Republican or Democrat. I try to understand what is it that they're trying to represent. Sometimes, yeah, it gets to a point where you try to choose the lesser of two evils. For awhile, I didn't vote at all. For the past few years, the voting place ended up at the house across from my apartment building. So, I had no excuse that I don't have time to vote. But, yeah, it seems the 2 major parties seemed to be both filled with idiots.
