Starting a new job tomorrow, getting a car this week for said job. Oh gawd I'm nervous, but this is just the change that I needed so badly!
I said that I'd be out of Wal-mart at the end of December...I'm a couple weeks late, but I did it. I'm not working at that hell hole of a job anymore! Tonight is my last shift.... Read More
Good thing your boss isn't there and you give her what for - I've known people who have done that (well, 1 person) and who suddenly found that their boss called up their new employer ... :S
Well, I found a home for one of the kittens. I know, I said that I'd keep them together, but it's hard to find someone that can afford to bring both of them to the vet, and at the same time, someone that I can trust. The little grey kitten went to my next door neighbor, so at least we can see how they're doing... Read More
I have lots of experience with rescue and even rescue transport....
I'm glad that you found a home for the kittens - I know it must be tough though

The other day a friend of mine discovered a couple of kittens behind the local Wal-mart. Needless to say, I had to get them out of the cold, so we each picked up a shivering little kitty and brought them home. They are extremely thin, in fact they dove into the food that I gave them when we got them home. It's obvious that they... Read More
My kitty of 16 years had to be put down yesterday. She was old, and was having bad health problems.
She was a calico, which means she was almost always disgruntled. She hissed at me, scratched me, stole my food and peed herself when she was scared. I still loved her all the same. She'd lay down on my lap on occasion, and... Read More
With the impending doom of January coming up, I'm preparing by trying to make some extra cash now. Between presents, and rent, this month has been tough. In January my hours will be cut down at work to next to nothing, and my debt is going to bite me in the face.
I was watching CNN about some boot store in the U.S. that is trying to bring back saying "Merry Christmas", instead of "Happy Holidays". They offer a whole 5% discount if you say Merry Christmas, as well as button reading "It's alright to say Merry Christmas". GET THIS: this woman has the nerve to say "Merry Christmas is what it's all about, it's about Christ,... Read More
Cross your fingers for Ms. Malice...further details to come shortly
It's coming down to the wire now for X-mas...I'm glad that I got all my shopping done on the internetz. I know, I don't do the X-mas thing, but it's nice to give presents. Giving gifts doesn't have to be X-mas related anyway. Happy Winter Solstice!
Speaking of shopping...it's almost that time of year again... Read More
Taken from the T-Shirt Hell newsletter opener (Nov 10, 2007):
Merry "Time of the year when it's still several weeks until Christmas but you should be buying gifts anyway because this is a consumer culture and your possessions define you" Day. If you don't celebrate Christmas, I have a couple of things to say to you. First, I hope that dreidel comforts you while you're... Read More
i miss the days when kids were happy with dolls and wagons and playing in the snow, making snowmen and tobogganing. i hope if i have children, to raise them to appreciate what's right out the front door and to protect what's left of it, to use their imginations, instead of begging for the next big consumer item. the world is a sad place these days. i don't know if my wishes will be realized, and if i don't think so, i'll avoid the whole children thing all together, because last thing i want is a whiny kid with a christmas list down to the floor. last things i want is to contribute to the madness.
I hate when people ask me what I want for Christmas as well. In my opinion, I just want something small that has meaning derived from my relationship with that person. Something that means something to both of us, something I will actually enjoy and cherish.
I work hard for my money, and I will use that money for items that I actually NEED and WANT. I would rather gifts be something thoughtful, something I wouldn't necessarily buy for myself. All in all, I would usually rather get nothing.
Having said that, I have been meaning to pick up a Wii as of late.
Good stuff on getting the new job. Yay!!
