Exhausted.

Finally into the new house with aliasTrouble, cleaning out the last of the apartment. Spent all of Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday packing; then moving everything into a defective U-Haul truck on Sunday, moving it out on Monday. Ya, defective U-Hauls that stall out on really high hills, and on freeways, not fun. Couldn't have pulled all of this off without friends,...

For me, things like that end up hitting in waves...but yeah, keeping busy definitly helps. If I don't keep my mind busy after stuff happens it starts to wander and usually ends up in a place that I'd rather it not be at.

Glad to hear the move went well. I always got really excited after moving to a new place, especially if its loads better than the old place.
jane_m:
thanks, i really appreciate it. smile

congrats on the new place.

My grandfather died two days ago.

Apparently. Because as those of you who've known me for awhile remember, my parents don't talk to me. And that's the side of the family who've elected to take that route as well. So no one told me until someone on the other side disobeyed explicit instructions from my own mother not to tell me and passed the information...

When my dad passed away last Christmas, I went through a lot of old photos and found some real old cool ones that I scanned in. It's so crazy to see pictures of your grandparents when they were your age.

The light of day has a tendency to bring clarity and calmness to a situation. At night, when you're tired, it's easy to feel beaten down by life's events, and where you stand within them. Such was my angsty entry last night.

I do need to remember that as overwhelmed as I am right now, it'll pass. That's what my left arms tells me, anyway....

Hm. This would be great. Maddigan's requests to the universe:

An apartment, my job situation ironed out, and a motorcycle so that I can just go.

Steady sleep.

A clear grip on my situation and those who seem to keep wandering into or out of it at will.

Not being an emo brat and writing angsty blogs.

I feel down.

Aces.

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but all those things will sort themselves out in time. Try not to worry about things beyond your control. You have plenty of time to sort things out, gain experience and refine your bullshit detector - all of which will help your life run smoother and calmer if you choose.

Good earplugs will help with the sleep, anyway.
redheadedleague:
I second that wish. Speaking of which, what the hell am I doing up?

So I crashed my motorcycle yesterday.

Front end had been giving me problems all day, took a turn at the wrong speed, then target fixated.

"Hey look, there's a ditch over there! Hey, look, I'm in the ditch!"

I'm alright, just scraped and bruised, but the bike is probably totaled. Which leaves me in an position. All of my available cash had gone into the...

Ah cool. I was gonna suggest something like that because they're relatively inexpensive and still a kick in the pants to ride.

I total out my first bike 3 months after I got it...hit rail road tracks. Bike was totaled, but the insurance company pretty gave me everything I payed for it. Try this insurance company on your next bike Foremost wink

Any day spent lounging is a good day.

Spent yesterday lying around topless with Cordelia drinking vodka ...

While I'm still job-hunting, I've been out on the road riding down the coast almost everyday. Vroom! Absolutely stoked about a group ride next weekend.

My evenings have been spent with
deathb4mullets, Cordelia, and a few others as we...

I've always loved the water. I grew up with it all around me, always a short drive away. It calms me down like nothing else. No matter what else is going on, when I'm sitting at the shore it's all better.

I woke up ridiculously early this morning and took a motorcycle ride down to the beach. The ride itself was fun; woo for no...

I feel awful right now. I hate this.

The cat does not appreciate me trying to be needy seeking affection.

I'm pretty stupid sometimes.

Edited to Add: Said cat seems to be trying to make up for her previous callous abandonment by refusing to ever get off of me again. It's 70 degrees and I've got a ten pound fluffball on me.

Sorry to hear you're under the weather, and that your cat is being less than sympathetic, as is often the way with felines. They're still far superior to dogs though.

thank you for the comment and i'll be more than happy to fill in for the cat biggrin ... i wish you the best too wink

good luck with your ventures kiss

I'm curled up all naked-like in piles of blankets. It's warm. I'm cozy. There's a kitty curled around my feet.

I don't want to get out and venture into the cold. No. Don't wanna. Can't I just stay in bed forever? Please? Anyone who wants to see me can just come here. That's right, I'll be holding court in my apartment, giving audiences and granting...

I have that precise conversation with my cat every morning. She says I should feed her and go to work. I protest that it's, you know, FIVE IN THE MORNING. She tells me it's my own damn fault, and if I don't like it I can get a new job.
