It is good to be learning new skills I am glad you are enjoying it. I guess the guy who is so annoying will continue to do the same when he leaves education and starts working. It is in that arena that he will find out what a mistake he has made because if you are paying someone to do a job and they dont listen you stop paying them.
There are so many really good packages out there these days and I would love to have more time to experiment with some of them. I am looking at ZBrush at the moment it is modelling package that I would like to get skilled at as I am interested in doing some bronze casting and this is a good package to design the piece with, then have it made on a rapid prototyping machine to allow a wax mould to be made.
I am planning a residential course in Scotland when this job finishes to gain the necessary casting skills. It should be fun.

He also wrote I know my fate. One day there will be associated with my name the recollection of something frightful, of a crisis like no other before on earth, of the profoundest collision of conscience.
It is often taken that this refers to the rise of fascism and the Second World War.
Enough of that though.
Finding your way through life and becoming comfortable with who you are, an individual who dares to stand apart from the crowd and be who you want to be is an achievement worth celebrating.

Yes it is rather cold over this side of the pond at the moment. There are some great stunts on that clip. I do like the look of those shots as you say they look entirely different from a standard digital shot. I guess it is partially to being fully manual and if the settings arent optimal you will get these effects.
You look great and your friends are right 30 is a great time as people take you more seriously even though if it was me they would be making a mistake I dont take life too seriously at times it helps me get by the drudgery of it all.
You have a wonderful Christmas too,
